i've been listening to a lot of underground hip-hop artists such as: Mr. Lif, Aesop Rock, Akrobatik, Cannibal Ox, RJD2, Micranots, Mic Head, Push Objects Buttons.... it gave me the idea to draw him.

I'll draw it differently this time. This time I'll draw real undrgrnd rap emcees and djs/b-boys/writers/lyricists to make up the 5 Elements of Hip-Hop.

Deformed (Jul 24, 2004)
Why can't we all just get along? Maybe because Axil is logged on? Last I knew, 2draw was a nice place to draw, share good idieas, make new freinds and comment on drawings. What happened to this place? You all fight like frekin two-year-olds! Just comment or critique the damn picture!! Don't bicker over a shit loada crap like twinkies, Different generations and fat, ugly kids!! My god...... Why you guys fight about gay nonsence is beyond me. Oh and Nice job Graffiti.

i personally think this picture is pretty good. I like the style too, yeah its not everyones tea n biscuits but who cares? We're all different people who are bound to like different things but it doesn't make the things they don't like completely rubbish. Yeah, maybe it needs improvement but nothings perfect. I'm sure we all need to improve on something in our artwork. I just don't see what all this "back in my day" or other stuff thats been mentioned actually gives this image any good feedback that helps graffiti871 become better at what he does. Being rude certainly doesn't. If this is truely the community that it says it is then people would critically analyse the image or any image for what it is and the improvements it needs instead of insulting the person for what they've drawn. As for the music side, you can't truely say that you hate a genre because each genre of music has hundreds and maybe thousands of artists that you've not heard even the unsigned bands. I didn't used to like punk, now i'm a big fan of it all because i actually spent time listening to it, reading on what it means and all that other stuff. Yeah there are some punk musicians that i don't like, but to say the whole genre is a talentless waste of time is well closed-minded and ignorant thing to believe in my books.

anyways, theres my rant.

ps, i didn't read all the posts, or the ones on the other message board yet...but from reading the stuff i have, i'm not too impressed. but who cares???

Very cool picture...that dollar sure looks real...but in my world, it's 'Another day, another 'dime'...(inflation ya know...)...jk (but it sure 'feels' like it).
DejasView (Jun 12, 2004)
Amazing. A lot of symbolism could be construed from this piece.
Pantera (Jun 13, 2004)
I really do not know what to say about your drawings, I think all has been said by others. I have seen most of them and love them all. Your talent is amazing, thank you for sharing with us :)

This one came from an idea I had about drawing a picture of a cartoon cow saying
"Remember gang, Morty the cow says "Don't whack off."

Not really my most absolute favorite, but okay.
davincipoppalag (Jun 12, 2004)
I found the comments read better on this one set to music. I thought about it for awhile, and chose Tchaikowski..The Nutcracker.. it seemed appropriate with all the talk of castration and such

From Shine, right? So that was a good movie?
Nice draw, interesting use of composition space.
Axil62 (Jun 11, 2004)
The refrence for the guy is from Shine, the sun I just added to draw the eye upwards and give the thing a feeling of...well, upwardness and the words are the words that were playing from Led Zeppelin when I finished.
davincipoppalag (Jun 12, 2004)
You always get such great ideas for pictures.. and they all seem to have a different style. You got GOOOOOD drugs....
shell (Mar 1, 2011)
Lol Dave. Wait, is he on to something? Regardless, I like this and the style seems different from everything else you did until now. Simple, clean, fresh. Great quote.

You don't want me to pull out my reference for this one.
(Mine has a 6" barrel... I drew it w/ a 4" here because I wanted it this size and couldn't make the canvas wider.)

I just wanted to thank you for doing this picture. I've gone through the versions several times trying to learn your technique for doing hair and it's helped so much. The way you saved the versions makes this like a mini tutorial. Thank you!!

DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jun 11, 2004)
Yes, this is pretty nice for being new to the tools... you'll get used to them and amaze yourself with what you can do. (The Lascaux is the very best) I like the eyes for the most part, although I think you could reduce the tear duct portion and the nose might be just a little long, but the overall composition/execution and idea is really a good one.
Axil62 (edited Jun 11, 2004)
The face is at an angle, so the right eye (her right) should be up higher in the frame than the left eye. Also, the only way the iris of her right eye would be so close to her nose would be if she is cross eyed. If she's not, then you need to move it (the iris) away from the tear duct exposing the sclera (the white part). Oh, and they should be round in shape with the lid covering some of it. Remember, the eyeball is just that, a ball, mostly covered by surrounding scull and tissue with only the familiar almond shape exposed for the rest of the world to see, unless of course you neglected to pay your friendly neighborhood cocaine dealer for a substantial amount of the substance and he sent over big Jim and Donny to collect and they popped your eye out with a spoon and cauterized the inside of the gaping socket with a cigar...you know, just to warn you that you better have the cash tomorrow. In that case, passers by might get a glimpse of the rest of your eye....unless asshole Donny was all coked up and swallowed it for a fun joke.
