Weeeell....this is it *gulp* go ahead...criticize the stupid background...and the abysmal shading. and the fact that the pink tube thing SO doesn't match. but don't dis the style of the outfit ^.^

Gah same with me and my Dad, just because I'm nine years old he thinks my magas are crappy, but everyone else says they're near professional. *Remembers first manga* Ah yes... "Hexxub"... What a great manga...

I don't blame him -- you seem a little young to be turning out mangas. That's just my opinion, however. Perhaps you could e-mail me a few pages of this "Hexxub".

Yeh same...I want to read it ^.^ but yeahhhhh 9 *is* a bit too young. Yeeeeeesh I feel like an old fogie sayin that >.< Ephgz. Ohhhhhh one MORE thing...on your profile, it says you skipped 3 grades. But I only skipped one (which screwed me so badly...) and I was the same age as you in grade 5...but then again, I'm not homeschooled (eek that would be we-ird!)

While art is certainly very subjective, don't be too quick to dismiss criticism of your work. There's a bad tendancy of people in anime and furry groups to bypass technical or creative skill by just creating bland work that will get praise from other people in the group simply because it's anime or furry. There are plenty of boards that turn into circle-jerks of uninspired artists boosting each other's egos without really trying to get anywhere. If people outside your clique are giving you negative reactions regularly, you may want to re-evaluate your work.

Yuko Asahina from Tokimemo...used reference, not sure where though...I got sloppy with the background, I had no clue what to do so I did halftoning, blurred it, then sharpened it. Looks more like cross-hatching @.@...

Ack, the backgrounds junky. It's supposed to be in a classroom, you can see the desks and chairs a bit...from Tokimeki Memorial video game, by the way (one of my fave SNES games...it's all japanese so it's #($*%# hard to read) shiori's not my fave character anymore, though...I like Ayako (most like me), Yuko(party chick), and Mira (has MODERN clothes!)
timer's off by an hour at least. I wanted to do something very simple again, until I'm sure I can do something more complex.

I really REALLY hope this is up to standards...it's schala from Chrono Trigger (snes)...done pixel by pixel, for the record...never done anything like this before, even though I've done many dollz...

Anyway, this is pretty good, I've done pixel-by-pixels before, but I can't keep them simple enough and they don't look too good.
I love this, even though I don't know anything about Chrono Trigger. The shading on the cloak/cape thing is fantastic ^_^

well, I dyed it bright red the day before school ended this summer, but by the time summer was over, it faded to a pink colour o.O...it's red again now, but it's not fading yet...on a side note, I got really lazy doing the background and the eye...just wanted to get it over with...
