strangeoid (Feb 3, 2004)
Great sense of style. I originally wondered why it wasn't posted in intermediate in the first place. ^___^ You're off to an awesome start. Can't wait to see it finished!
rot-k (Feb 4, 2004)
Wow! Thanks for moving my draw to the intermediate board, you've just made my day! Ok I'll go and finish it now. Once again, thank you so much!

Here it is, I hope you'll like it. I need to work on my shading and hair texture, but basically I'm satisfied, and I'm starting to understand how to use the layers! Thanks again for allowing me to finish this pic, and thanks to all the users who bothered to explain how to use the layers ^___^

interesting drawing, almost seems greek in style, but I don't understand what your comment is about. is that supposed to be jesus?

At times , I stand in awe of God's love. I was delivered from a life of sin. It is hard to refrain giving my Lord and Savour the praise.

I wanted to picture a woman walking on the beach alone, a peaceful time of quietness.

Lovely. You're a very religious girl, no?
Look (Feb 1, 2004)

It's really beautiful. I love the color. I also like how you use light lines to outline them and make it all dreamy

"So many wrong decisions in my past,
I'm not quite sure if I could ever hope to trust my judgment anymore.
But lately I've been thinking, because it's all I've had to do.
And in my heart I feel that I should give this child to you.

And maybe you can tell your baby when you love him so
that he's been loved before
by someone who delivered your son
from God's arms to my arms to yours.

And if you choose to tell him and if he wants to know
how the one who gave him life could bear to let him go,
just tell him there was sleepless nights I prayed and paced the floor
and knew the only peace I'd find is if this child was yours."

I love it. The poem makes me cry and the picture really captures it. Great work!
brushes4 (edited Jan 30, 2004)
as someone who has been on both sides of that poem, i found it very comforting, your picture glows with the love a mother feels knowing she made the right decison, its very soft and warm, yet the small important things like her tears, her eyes and the babies face are finer, more detailed. beautiful piece dixie :O) i also love how the image is like a page torn from her life, not to throw it away but to tuck it safely in her heart.

I really enjoy the little speckles in the water and land. They make it appear sparkley. And it is relatively relaxing. Nice!

I originally did a work similar to this with oil on canvas about 10 years ago. I believe it was while I was studying a book called "How to Paint Roses".
