i fuckin hate turtles. but i like the idea of (is it india?) that the turtle carries the world on its back.ive never really done this style on oekaki before, its my skate board painting style :D blahhhh, ive been filling out job applications all day...im gunna either work at the boardwalk arcade (santa cruz) or marinis (ice cream place) so eh. drawing feels good. even if its fuckin gross turtles that i hate. |

Contest Week 75: Turtles*two week contest Your votes have decided Turtles to be the next contest. So for the next two weeks your to draw Turtles. Seems simple. But I've decided to leave the field wide open and allow for any kind of turtle you can think of. From realism, to cartoons, to well known Turtles, from abstract, to advertising. We're going to try a new system of voting for what contest idea gets picked next. Everyone can make one suggestion per contest week, which usually runs for a about 2 weeks before the next contest, and everyone gets to make one vote. Ideas for contests will be posted in this thread, and when enough ideas have been made then we'll start a new round of voting to get ready for the next contest.

okay i dont really get this contest, but i tried to use as much texture as possible (can you tell?) prolly not the right thing. anyways, im still kinda proud of this cuz ive never done anything like it.anyways..enjoy? even if its not the right thing..

This is very cool Dave. I would like to enter this contest but I do not understand how to do the textures. Or, do you just draw textures, or do you import them from somewhere.....Just me, confused again.Laura

QTgillie- The applets aren't set up in a way for you to import textures from anywhere, so you'll have to draw them yourself. What davincipoppalag did here was draw the sky as if it was wood, the sea as if it was made of bricks, etc. If you have any questions about it go ahead and ask.

Contest Week 74: Texture! closed for judging In this contest you'll be using the tools available to you to mimic real-life textures and combining them onto unexpected surfaces. Think of it as a contest with a focus on technical skill, but also on originality with what textures you decide to put on what objects. Some examples of unexpected textures would be- A vase with with a texture of water sitting on a table with a texture of leather, or a cloud with a texture of brick above a mount...
