Wraith (Jul 15, 2007)
Very Nice indeed.. I have seen skies like this in my home state.
Sweetcell (Jul 16, 2007)
How's Washington been Helena? Not as bad as you first thought I hope.

Simple draw, but nicely done.
Pantera (Jul 27, 2007)
Washington right now is very nice, in the 50s at night ( a bit to cold for me ) and in the 70s during the day, I am not complaining. I have not seen much of this town yet, still to much to do in the house. Hope all is well with all of you :)

Definitely true - if you continue to practice, you will get better! Welcome to 2draw, blah blah, etc, and so on. You used your background colors nicely, I like it. :] But if I can offer a word of advice - if at all possible, try to avoid using the fill/paint bucket tool. It tends to result in those icky white spaces you can see around all your lineart. Layers can be a big help with smooth coloring; if you don't know how layers work, check out the forums, and we would be glad to help you out. :)

Reminds me of something Van Halen would use as an album cover.
Sweetcell (Jul 11, 2007)
I like your abstract pieces but maybe do these quick pieces on begginer's.
leeds (Jul 11, 2007)
actually that is the board I prefer to post on but couldn't...so as I was lost in a La Fe'e moment decided to post here anyway...hey thanks for the comment about the album cover.
Sweetcell (Jul 11, 2007)
Ahh, you at your limit then. It happens. I do like this don't get me wrong. Just needs more.
I'll shut up now 8|

This time I painted first and then divided the image into 3 channels/layers(cyan, magenta, and yellow). Then I moved the layers so that they do NOT fit and made some other changes.
It's not a 3D image ;)

This is insane, at first I was worried and thought my eyes were screwing up. Nice. :)
Sweetcell (Jul 11, 2007)
This is a cool idea. But how exactly do you mean. You made copies of the lineart then colored them in these three colors and faded the layers a bit so the bottom layers would show through? It sounds interesting enough for me to try. It does look very 3-dish and makes me want to get some and try just to see if it would work. :)
Dr.Moony (Jul 11, 2007)
Step by step:
- You paint something as usual
- Merge all the layers to one base layer

- Copy that base layer + create a new layer(has to be above the copy)
- You fill the new layer with the color Yellow (red: 255; green:255; blue: 0)
- set the layer type from normal to additive -> your image should look very bright now
- Merge that layer with the copy of the base image -> set layer type to multiply
- make that layer invisible
- create a new copy of your base painting + new empty layer; and repeat the steps from above - BUT with the colors cyan(r:0 g:255 b: 255) and magenta(r:255 g:0 b:255)
- After you have finished that, you can make the colored layers visible - and make all the others invisible -> the image should look exactly like the original now
- by moving the channels you can get this 3D feel

I hope you can understand it :) ... I'm bad at writing tutorials

I still have this undeniable desire to see you do a very in-depth landscape. Could you? Would you do it for me?
Dr.Moony (Jul 10, 2007)
Has a lot of tension. good stuff :)
I always imagine these paintings as a part of something much larger. Like a texture. I enjoy that focus.

I really like the perspective and the hair..but I noticed the the left eye (our right) is a little far up or the right eye is too far down >_>. Otherwise, this is awesome! :D
Childlike_Vampire (Jul 12, 2007)
Yay pretty red hair and beautiful face and boobies and swords. Really great drawing, has lots of motion, and I love the colors.
Wraith (Jul 15, 2007)
WOW! I really love the hair! This drawing would look awsome as a poster in my room! Great stuff IKS!
Sweetcell (Jul 16, 2007)
Long time commenting. I love everything about this, to the deep reds in the bg, dress and hair (my God that hair, so amazing) to the skin tones and the blade. Even the sketchy lines work. And good job on the perspective. I agree with Mocha but I think it's more her right eye needs to be raised, not her left lowered but it's really minor in comparison to the rest of the piece. Welcome and please stick around and do more.

Hehe, cute picture here :). I think those tin cans are just trying to spare the lives of their friend fishies, you know, sacrificing themselves instead.

By the way, while I'm here, I should probably also mention that I found that I haven't returned that book to you. I thought I did, but it was amongst the pile of stuff on my desk lol. Remind me to return it to you the next time you visit! Otherwise, it'll forever be a part of the modern art piece I got going with all the other stuff it's sitting with :P.
lori (Jul 13, 2007)
this is cute :) My one fishing attempt was scary.. my son was trying to show me what to do, and I was casting my line into the water and I hooked my son's cheek! :/ Haven't tried again since.
Sweetcell (Jul 13, 2007)
I kept meaning to comment on this but forgot. It's really a sweet picture and makes you think about how much junk is thrown into our waters. She looks so sad. If she get's enough though she can take them to the nearest recycling depot and get her money back for the amount she spent on the worms, plus. :D

Ouch Lori, hope it wasn't too bad.
Qwerty_Wittle_Fawah (Aug 8, 2007)
:-) That is sooo cute! I can't really fish...but that is ok
