not bad but your proportions are off think about your own anatomy when drawing if you need to go look in a miror to what a position looks liek the shading looks good but that's not much of a background

That tree needs a bit more work but the rest is peacefull, nice little crest of waves.

I agree, I think a little more detail on the tree silhouette (adding more, smaller branches) more detail on the wave crest and a little more bleeding of the moonlight into the sky, and it would be good. I love the ocean at night.

Bleh. I hate using my dad's computer. It's the only one with internet access in our house and it sucks eggs. The resolution and contrast is all messed up so my pictures look banded. The colors aren't as blended and smooth as they are on my own computer I use at school. Oh well. My reference is still packed away so that's as far as I'm taking it today.

Okay, I'm a 'non-japanesey' type, but I'm trying to learn more. ;)
I have a really dumb question though- is the 'Hakkai' guy a picture of you, or did you select your screenname after an Anime character? Seriously, I'm being honest- I just don't know that much about it... I really like the drawing though.
