Nice blending. Is it just a background and you're going to make a picture on it? Or is it just a design?

Yes very good. I love the wing.
Merulotte (edited Jun 26, 2003)
Hmm... I can't wait to see this in color! The best thing about a picture, IMO, is when you finally see it in living colors. ^_^ Also, quite good perspectives with the wing.

does anyone have any tips for oceans and waves? i'm dissatisfied with the current appearance of the ocean (did you catch the pun?).>:P
Minitsaru (edited Jun 26, 2003)
well there are 2 ways of learning and i do both, i go to the ocean and take pictures to bring home with me for practise, and 2 watch some high end anime flicks because they put a LOT of detail to the enviorment =) and if you cant get your hands on many anime shows than rent the movie spirited away it has some good water scenes in it and it came to canada so it must be wherever you are =)hope this helps
OneWingedMoo9se (edited Jun 26, 2003)
HA HA HA Current! Ok ok ::calms self down and runs away::
marcello (edited Jun 26, 2003)
Heh, at first I thought it was a sleeping dragon...Well, Mini sort of has the right idea of looking at real ocean, but honestly I don't see a point in going out to an ocean and taking lots of pictures just to come back and do some oekaki. If you go out of your way to do that, enjoy it, maybe do a painting while you're there. Anime is stylized, so I only recommend looking at that if you really want to have an anime style in your piece. (And if that's the case I highly suggest looking at 5+ anime by different artists to get a more general idea.) So, what would I do? First off, google image search is your friend. A quick search for 'ocean' or 'ocean waves' will bring up many cool photos and paintings, and probably everything you'd need.
Turtlebuster (edited Jun 26, 2003)
XD when i started sketching the land i was actually trying to draw a crab, so it looks an awful lot like a claw... i couldn't find a decent photo of a crab to base it off of so i changed direction. the problem with me using photos of waves and such is that there is a lot of action going on in a single section of water, even it is relatively calm. i think water is more difficult to create than anything else. thx for the tips |

The nose seems a little too long, but the blending on the skin is wonderful. I bow to you. *bowbowbow*
Loooove it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Coooooooooooollllll!!!!!!!!!!
Johnny Depp is the sole reason I'm going to see it. i hate disney...but i love Johnny Depp more than I hate Disney. so..yeah. nose is a tad long...but still...you did a greeeat job on the eye...and that's the sexiest bit of Johnny ('s face). heh.
good drawing though.. the eye looks really realistic
