Gren from Cowboy Bebop. My theory is if I draw enough of these fanart pictures eventually I'll get good enough at this style to draw it without using a picture. Speaking of which, here is the one I used for this picture:http://www.absoluteanime.com/cowboy_bebop/gren.jpg
DieChan (Apr 5, 2004)
I don usually watch CB, but this is really awesome! It look just like the picture! Although the mouth is kinda off, but oh well! Excellent job. *nod nod* Bye now.
marcello (Apr 5, 2004)
diechan: if I'm not mistaken, this is from the movie, not the show
TheCrimsonKing (Apr 5, 2004)
It's from the show alright, I believe its from part 2 of "Jupiter Jazz" or perhaps another name, But I know it's from the show, Gren wasn't in the movie. And your theory about drawing enough fanart pics is partly true..However to draw anime and manga styles on your own its better to just sit down everyday and study styles and most of al figure out which style(s) of manga you wish to draw, and study that particular one. Otherwise your just gonna draw fanart pics for a long, long time. Nice picture though.
marcello (Apr 5, 2004)
heh, that's funny, I was thinking of jupiter jazz (the dude with the breasts...), but for some reason I said movie. |

Wierd idea I got. I know the shoulder looks like Dexter St Jock pulled it out of socket, but it's too late to fix it now, I say.
Noremac (Apr 4, 2004)
this is awesome, i think it bears name and place for advanced
marcello (Apr 4, 2004)
nope, definitely not advanced yet.why? for one, the lineart is somewhat crude, with not enough attention paid to things such as the shoulder, ears, had, pocket, and quality of the line itself. the shading is a little confusing with no apparent light source, yet very sharp shadows. one might expect a little texture in some of the surfaces. overall, it works, but isn't advanced material.
DinoFlorist (Apr 4, 2004)
It's pretty good! Actually Marcello is right about all of those things. It's physically impossible for the shoulder to bulge up like that. I don't know what the trouble with the pocket is. The hand does not look right in any way. I'm sure that if you tried again with those ideas in mind, you could make a really great picture; but this is good as it is. Don't get too caught up in realism.
Deformed (Apr 5, 2004)
Did I say advanced? I meant intermediate. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I still realy like it though. |

a birthday pic for evil cloud. its his birthday today!! yay!!!
tappie_chan (Mar 30, 2004)
yes, he is a leak head! lol ^__^. the large sweat drop is a common anime cliche'. it signifies embarassment. or, if you like, his head just has one large, hyperactive sweat gland. whichever you prefer ^___^
davincipoppalag (Mar 31, 2004)
ahhh! Thanks!
bumpinthenight (Mar 31, 2004)

longway (Apr 4, 2004)
i agree, wonderful to look upon...
Gigandas (Apr 4, 2004)
Whoa, DBA, that's a great idea for a drawing, seeing that there are all those colors in the shell. The pearl is great too, but I'm more impressed by your color use within the shell.
shudson (Apr 5, 2004)
This has to be one of my favorites I've seen here. I love the colors and the texture in the shell and pearl |

cmb (Apr 4, 2004)
nice work! I agree with the above comments- sometimes the blend option helps, othertimes it can look to fuzzy...I think this reminds me slightly of botticellis venus rising from the waves...
longway (Apr 4, 2004)
thanks cm, like the name implies, i've come a long way, from where this drawing thing started almost 2 years ago now. and it is partly because of the help i have recieved from gifted artist's like both of you and others...can't thank everyone enough....
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Apr 4, 2004)
I'm not sure how he has this thing set up, but I've lost my connection completely a couple of times right after it began to submit.. came back and there my drawing was. Other places you lose it, you lose it. This is nice. For me to blend is absolutely necessary, but then to go back and paint another layer to add definition is also necessary to keep it from being smudgey or blurry. Great proportions and movement in this one.
Pandora (Apr 4, 2004)
This is wonderful for just learning the tools. Just wait until she becomes more real to look at. They may boot you off. lol just kidding. I would like to see you expand with a little more definiton in the back ground..Wonder what it would be like if you showed her shadow? Just curious. Very pretty and again the hair I want. |

Kasha (Mar 31, 2004)
awww, this is so cute!! really good picture choice. i admire the colors you played. This picture really has a nice realistic moist look to it. *holds microphone up to DBA* Tell us, just how do you do it?
Gigandas (Mar 31, 2004)
Whoa, reminds me of UppityCracker's frog XD.That's real freakin' good though.I haven't looked through your drawings in a while....maybe I'll cruise through 'em tomorrow after I get back from school.Right now, I'm exhausted so....yeah^^;.Anyways, back to this one, I like the head the most with all it's detail and structure. The eyes are neat too.I definitely see more and more improvements in your skills as you submit a new drawing.I wish I could do that too....><
