I really like this one. Awesome pic for sure, but I'm putting in an old request...please do another aerial view...I love those...(is your slate gettin' full now?)
davincipoppalag (Apr 6, 2004)
I'm trying to decide what I want to draw next...
Aubrey (edited Apr 13, 2004)
This is a picture that tells a story without even needing one written really. There's so much action invested in it and yet it's only a snapshot. Very cool and very nice Poppa :) |

zep (Apr 11, 2004)
hehehe....good humor too...i think it´s nice to be you if you did this...look if you are, i´m trying to accomplish the final steps to get a degree (academic magister in communication)....aaaaaaaaaaaaand i´ve been looking for information about to make this nice draw pads online, because i´ll like to include one in my final work, there´s any way to learn, without spend a life learning about java?...pd: i´m a teacher in design, i don´t want to make bussiness with the information requested...pd2: excuse my english, i´m not an english speaker person....bye and thanks

If you're having problems with Java, get a new Mac. And use the new Safari, it works well with the applets. BTW, neat drawing!
marcello (Apr 12, 2004)
Well there are two parts here, the applets themselves (written in Java by different people), of which I wrote Lascaux Sketch after being fairly dissatisfied with paintbbs and oekakibbs (this was back in the stone age before shi-painter), then the site that you browse (written in PHP, Perl, or some other server-side scripting language. In this case, 2draw was written in PHP by myself). If you want to make a website where people can draw online, most likely you won't be writing your own java drawing applet. That took me almost half a year. To make a basic site you can either work with an existing one (such as php-based oekakipoteto, or some of the standard perl systems). The original 2draw was scratched together in a few weeks, and before that I made an even simpler site for an art class in a few days.... Then again, it's not entirely clear what you are trying to do. Are you trying to make a website where people can draw online? If so, is it important that you make it, or just have it? Because you can look into setting up one of the pre-packaged systems. Or bug me to get 2draw.net hosted boards working and pay to host one through 2draw with the 2draw interface and whatnot...
zep (Apr 13, 2004)
uff...thnks a lot ...i´ll think about it....by my side i wanna to make a site with a draw pad in it, and hopefully the capacity to index the images...thanks again... |

My first try at drawing a facial pic. Her hair is way too 'yellow'...her skin is way too light...I definately need more practice! :D
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Apr 12, 2004)
Of course it isn't realism, but it's very pretty. I like it this way.

Summer is coming and it's going to be soooooooo hot here in the desert. We have a place here that is 35 miles north of Las Vegas that is always 20 to 25 degrees cooler. It's called Mt.Charleston, looks a little like this.this is about as close as I can get it.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Apr 13, 2004)

(Apr 12, 2004)
yay! I learned about Hendri De Toulouse-Lautrec in Art History today. :) haha, when I saw this image I instanly feel in love with the sickly colors and the careless strokes that the lovely impressionist use. I don't think I can exactly capture the truthful artistic qualities of the actual painting but the colors and lighting effect looked really fun to do :D
davincipoppalag (Apr 12, 2004)
Toulouse-Lautrec was a dwarfish mishappen man. He felt outcast and started frequenting prostitutes. That led him to the Paris cabaret scene and most of his work was done in those places. I love his work. It is full of color and action. There was a great movie about him starring Jose Ferrer back in the 60's I believe. THis captures that flavor quite nicely. What was that saying? Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder? lol
Pandora (Apr 13, 2004)
I think you captured this beautifully. I wonder why he made the eyes so hollow looking. Did he not see anything in them?
Knockoff (Apr 13, 2004)
Really nice kasha! I love the colors also. Also you did a great job with shading n stuff.
concannon (Apr 13, 2004)
Oh, I love Toulouse! Great job.His full name: Henri Marie Raymond de Toulouse-Lautrec Monfa. Oh yes. |

When one sits and thinks about all the things going on in one's life..... things can seem so complicated then how they really are. Problems and complications become stress which builds up and stays in that persons life. Soon that one person can not contain all that is insode of them and they tend to either become very violent, depressed, or even start to cry..
Noremac (Apr 12, 2004)
