On the evening of that first day of the week, when the diciples were together with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The diciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.
John 20:19-20

edit:gah 13+ for blood forgot about that

This makes me cringe...cause not too long ago, in anthro class, we watched this video on this cultural thing where a guy gets crucified; and yes, they zoomed in on the palm and showed them driving a large nail into his palm :(.
As for your efforts, I think this turned out pretty well :). I mean....it did make me cringe, right? lol...(I know I know, you're probably gonna say something like, "you could have covered your eyes during the video..." but I just couldn't look away, bleh)

Anyway, I hope you had a nice Easter yourself :). Glad to see you drew some more...
Nyuusen (edited Apr 21, 2006)
The nails on Jesus' went through his palms but in normal curcifixions, which they did many times in various histories (Roman, Greek, etc.) the nail traditionally went through the wrists and ankles.

Or so i've read. The shading looks weird and the blood kind of looks like ribbons but it's better than i could do. So kudos.

hey did you know judas may have not been all that bad? =]
there's a gospel of judas that was found and they restored it and it was 13 pages long.
it says that judas was asked by jesus to do all that stuff.
and no I'm not christian or anything. I barely know anything about the religion. I learned this in my "myth magic monster and mystery" class. we watched a documentary on this.
I'm buddhist kthnx. christianity and other monotheistic religions confuse me.

haha Well I think it looks awesome the way that it is. You did an awesome job on her dress and skin and I def like the wall the way it is now. very cute! >_< lol I did that on purpose. And still my fav part is the blood dripping from her hand from the rose
EngineerErrant (Dec 23, 2006)
Yep. She should really put a band-aid on that cut, but I can almost feel her sighing.

Hast du etwas Zeit für mich
Dann singe ich ein Lied für dich
Von 99 Luftballons
Auf ihrem Weg zum Horizont
Denkst du vielleicht g'rad an mich
Singe ich ein Lied für dich
Von 99 Luftballons
Und das sowas von sowas kommt

99 Luftballons
Auf ihrem Weg zum Horizont
Hielt man für Ufos aus dem All
Darum schickte ein General
'Ne Fliegerstaffel hinterher
Alarm zu geben wenn's so wär
Dabei war'n dort am Horizont
Nur 99 Luftballons

99 Düsenflieger
Jeder war ein grosser Krieger
Hielten sich für Captain Kirk
Das gab ein grosses Feuerwerk
Die Nachbarn haben nichts gerafft
Und fühlten sich gleich angemacht
Dabei schoss man am Horizont
Auf 99 Luftballons

99 Kriegsminister
Streichholz und Benzinkanister
Hielten sich für schlaue Leute
Witterten schon fette Beute
Riefen: Krieg und wollten Macht
Man wer hätte das gedacht
Das es einmal so weit kommt
Wegen 99 Luftballons

Wegen 99 Luftballons

99 Luftballons

99 Jahre Krieg
Liessen keinen Platz für Sieger
Kriegsminister gibt's nicht mehr
Und auch keine Düsenflieger
Heute zieh ich meine Runden
Seh' die Welt in Trümmern liegen
Hab' 'nen Luftballon gefunden
Denk' an dich und lass' ihn fliegen
-Nena

haha-nono it is about balloons. But it is about those 99 red balloons starting a war; here:

I suggest reading the direct german translation cause they had to change some stuff to make it sound good in Enlish
Gigandas (Apr 4, 2006)
I still stand by what I said about them looking 'yummy'. I like how you didn't only use highlights, but you also used those darker shades of red that really add to the 3D roundness to them. You should be proud of this! You did a GREAT job :).
SanzoGirl (Apr 16, 2006)
I love that song! :D
EngineerErrant (Dec 23, 2006)
Mad props for knowing that the German version is superior. ^_^ You do reflective/transparent surfaces very, very well!

I like it...how do you do the sketchy thingy and make it looks so good?
fleeting_memory (Nov 9, 2005)
It isn't Adam, Caddris, but you're right it is Michelangelo
Gigandas (edited Nov 9, 2005)
Oh hey! I didn't see this.
I see you're practicing some anatomy here :). Looks pretty good. Just a little advice, but like in that right arm, you might want to round up the muscles to give it more sense that they are in fact, muscles. Definitely not a bad attempt though :).(Hehe, Michelangelo and orange..... :P)
EngineerErrant (edited Dec 23, 2006)
Mike better watch out, you're getting in on his territory here. ;)

I'm not quite sure what that hand is holding there...is it a transparent heart or an apple without a stem? I like the shadow snake looking at it as if it'll be his dinner though :). I dunno if this was intended, but you can see where the fingers actually touch the object on the other side (kinda like what you see when people press their faces up against a window :P), and I thought that was pretty cool lookin'. Nice :).
JESSI (Nov 14, 2005)
i have a pretty good idea that she is either holding an apple or a rose ???.....maybe good job i like the arm very realistic
Qwerty_Wittle_Fawah (edited Nov 14, 2005)
OMG!!! I was scrolling past this and I said to myself hey that looks like FM's and I look at the artist and yes it is...I love the Allegory...is that the word? I like how the apple is like see through. DUH ITS AN APPLE Snakes and apples go together and like birds and feathers :-P

Okay and duh I love the background...Thanks for telling me what it represented :P That totally makes it way more awesome then I thought it was before

Very imaginative..
Gigandas (Jul 5, 2005)
That's actually pretty imaginative like davinci said. I mean, I dunno if this was intentional, but that string with the different "ideas" on it is like a kind of plant which is growing out from the brain and the roots make up the wrinkles within the brain. Neat idea, I like this one :).
fleeting_memory (Jul 6, 2005)
Right on Gig! You gots it all. The wrinkles are the roots and it is indeed a string of ideas. But you usally know how I think anyway :) Thanks guys.
EngineerErrant (Dec 23, 2006)
AMAZIN' idea, and I can recognize all the bits! Awesome little piece of work!

Are you planning on being a vampire this year? Hehe, cute Halloween drawing :). I sorta see a face on that pumpkin there if I just stare long enough (the right eye, a circular nose, and the infamous jack-o-lantern mouth ;)...happy halloween to you too (get LOTSA candy!!!....even though I just settle for left overs at our house, hehe)
dietsoda (Oct 15, 2005)
Violins are cool... so are vampires.
fleeting_memory (Oct 21, 2005)

Great drawing fm! I thought this would be one of Cindy's when I saw the thumb...really good!
EngineerErrant (edited Dec 23, 2006)
fleeting memory's AWESOME. This is an idea I had for a story, an optical supercomputer trapped in a shot glass. Doesn't it look f***-all like Kinkade's martini glass pics? He's got a flippin' store in my local mall, fer pete's sake. I smell potential for massive, massive sell-outitude! ;)

you could easily illustrate a children's book
EngineerErrant (Dec 23, 2006)
Reminds me of the book at the beginning of Sleeping Beauty, or maybe those old-school Magic cards that were done in this fashion. I wish I had this kinda talent!
