Pretty good anatomy here. The blocked in gray on white is nice, it feels really 'Manga-sh'. =)
Careful with the hip size on guys. Male hips are generally smaller in ratio to their shoulders.
Maiko (Mar 21, 2007)
I won't comment on the kana, but
nice :0 the shape of the head looks a tad too tilted to the left but overall I love the composition :3 <3

plasticwrap (Mar 17, 2007)
first off, it reads unfinish.. i'm not done, and i havent retouched or anything.

and it says the bottom of her as in neck and BELLOW are just temporary until i get the hang of drawing proportions on the applet.
but thanks..
fleeting_memory (Mar 19, 2007)
done or not your first couple pictures should still really be on beginner just as courtesy and getting used to the site. It is a nice draw but at this point it really doesn't belong on intermediate yet.
Sweetcell (Mar 19, 2007)
Agreed agreed fleeting. This isn't intended as an insult and I'm sorry you took it that way but seriously, we all started on begginers at one point. You've got the talent you just need to start off slow.
plasticwrap (edited Mar 20, 2007)
mm okay. :> i understand.
now that you put it that way.

I don't feel like I'm gaining anything from posting at this place.
I see no reason anymore.
The original reason that I joined this place was to compete with other, get a bit internetfame and having an creative experience.
It frustrated me more than anything to read everywhere these these gay ass comments. -the more comments I get the better -
It's like deviantArt ... say thanks for every crap - some do that for advertisement, and others just feel like saying pointless stuff all the time because it's web2.0-a new society.

All of this is actually slowing me down....lame internet art circles....with fluffy puffy perfect world comments everywhere.

Also dave should get a life. All his comments scare me.

I'd rather paint for myself.

I'm glad they gave you some kind of reaction...enjoy playing with yourself. Don't let the door hit ya in the ass
Kloxboy (Mar 19, 2007)
I agree that you should paint for yourself, even when you get paid for it or do a request, you should do it for yourself to some degree.

If you get into a cycle of using comments to boost your ego and still want to draw for yourself, you're going to be disappointed. I think many 2Draw members have experienced this at some level, I know I have. I think that's what has happened to you and at it's worst. If you truly draw for yourself, like you say you do, comments or no comments won't affect you but it appears that they have, in a big way.

I agree the internet can be a box and limit your growth but no one forced you to experience this, you did it, it was your choice. Some of the comments you've received on 2Draw or DA may not be helpful but bashing others for not giving you the feedback you desired is really weak and insulting. That's a very pretentious attitude to have and makes you come off very selfish. And taking a hit at Dave isn't going to help you either, his comments might not satisfy you but he doesn't deserve to be insulted like that.

If you're looking to improve your skills, you get back what you put in, I know this much. Whether it's comments you want, improving your skills, the sake of creation or whatever your goal might be, ultimately, it's your own personal discipline that makes the difference, not others. Although, I highly recommend having your work critiqued by other artists, it can be critical to your development. Without feedback or influence, progress will be harder to achieve, especially in regards to personal style, which appears to be very important to you.

There are plenty of outside resources to help you improve on your art but don't dismiss the internet completely, especially in regards to digital art. I would even say the best resources for digital art will come from the internet. If you apologize for this crap you've written here and ask me nicely, I can hook you up with some helpful internet resources. If not, good luck with your pursuits.
Altard (Mar 20, 2007)
Your stuff was really cool, though. And I'll miss seeing it here, but if that's what you want to do I won't stop you.
brenndurdrykkur (Mar 20, 2007)
good luck with your endeavors :)
