I like this. The composition and the deep blue, pretty effective.
staci (Nov 23, 2007)
thank you, i like it too.
MelissaMissy (edited Jan 29, 2008)
Yes...but an hour? There's a nice effect but I do not get why you can't just start of by filling it with the colour and then drawing the blue bit.
Don't think I'm saying this is bad or not good for the time but can you tell me why it is so time consuming?
It is very effective and nice anyhow.
Edit: I just realised why, you used most of that time doing another pic which you deleted (I have no idea why!?) and did this. Okay, now I get it, no need to explain. =D

Nicely done. Good tones. I'm guessing her hair's up?
Axil62 (Nov 30, 2007)
I'm guessing it's a him.
Kloxboy (Nov 30, 2007)
I agree with Dan, it's most likely a him. The v-like shape of the clavicle, the large trapezius muscles and the size of the deltoid(s) are all, anatomically, very male. I think the only thing that throws me off are the pecs, they look like they're the start of breasts. Maybe this was meant to be sexually ambiguous?
MelissaMissy (edited Jan 29, 2008)
A hermaphrodite or a man with very severe man boobs...
I think it's most likely a him. Looks like Clark Kent...even with only the bottom bit of his head..

I can not find the reference photo online. Babies are fun to draw. :D

Very realistic, nice work.
Miss_DJ (Jan 12, 2008)
love the skin tones, textures and grass sprigs. Really nicely drawn.
enjoydotcom (edited Jan 17, 2008)
Thanks everybody, I'm pretty happy with the outcome. Oddly enough, the baby came out easier than the zink bath she is sitting it. It still looks like a gray blob. Exept for the handles they look similar to the photo. :S
MelissaMissy (Jan 29, 2008)
OHHHH! This is so adorable! Draw more babies just so I can aww at them!

I wasn't liking this at all, so I just made something up.
davincipoppalag (Jan 24, 2008)
Well I think what you made up is still a well done picture Paul . It's a beautiful scene
Sweetcell (Jan 24, 2008)
I like it better this way. It looks unspoiled, untouched. God's country.

love your creative talent!

That's one hell of a shark there. Eat ya Whole.

That shark gives me a sense of weight. It looks heavy. Water is looking really nice too.
MelissaMissy (Nov 20, 2007)
Wow! A masterpiece
Nostalgic (Nov 22, 2007)
What? No animation? T-T

Awesome pic though. =]
KuteDymples (Jan 24, 2008)
Whoa! Where have I been? I never seen this until today Elly. Forgive me....nice seeing your stuff here. I wish you could sit and teach me your tricks when it comes to water. Your draws are incredible to say the least.

Beautiful work :)

Just looking at this makes me feel chilly. Great capture of the mood, there's no mistaking this for anything but a cold morning.
Axil62 (Dec 27, 2007)
Thanks.
KuteDymples (Jan 24, 2008)
And yet another wonderful image Axil! So nice and crisp I can surely feel the coldness coming from this. The light looks good to me, but then again...what the heck do I know. Just know when I like something, and this is one that I really like.

oh..thought so. My son lives in Aurora, Illinois..thought that would be pretty coincidental!
Cameo (Dec 29, 2007)
Beautiful, Axil! Wish it would snow like that here!
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jan 21, 2008)
You somehow captured the incredibly elusive "cold" palette.... I get goosebumps just looking at this. Gotta go find a sweatshirt. :)
KuteDymples (Jan 24, 2008)
The picture is incredibly beautiful, but snow! I hate the stuff. I am originally from Michigan as well and I am so glad we barely see any of that crap in Kentucky. In fact today is the first day we have had it all year and I hate it. I am with you DBA, I had to go find my fuzzy slippers after seeing this. Awesome pic though Kloxboy!

I wanted to work from black and build something through it. I had attempted to do something from my imagination, but it wasn't turning out right, so I decided to work from a photograph as a learning experience. Thanks, 2draw!

You really are good. I feel the one thing missing is a small sparkle in the eye. Maybe just a small dot of white.
patienceisoverrated (Jan 2, 2008)
this is beautiful. The skintones are beautiful and the lighting is beautiful and the whole thing is really really great.
vlad.the.hamster (Jan 18, 2008)
awesome! lighting is so awesome!
KuteDymples (Jan 24, 2008)
I agree with all of the comments on this one. I can not do anything legible from my imagination, almost everything I have ever done was from reference except for florals. I do especially love your skin tones and lighting on this though. Exquisite!
