hi, it's Lori... forgot my password like an idiot, and I dont use my old email anymore so I was thinkin' I wouldn't bother Cello to send one to my new email... I'm doin' real shitty Suntan, to be perfectly honest with you.. I've had 2 heart attacks and I have to get open heart surgery because my heart is bleeding literally

My God, Lori....I remember you were having problems with your heart or along those lines. I'm so sorry to hear this and I'm sending my best and my prayers go with it for these troubles to get behind you. If I remember correctly you are around the Boston area where they have the best of help. Hope this is over soon and you'll be better and back to drawing here. Speedy recovery and huge hugs!! I finally updated it to the latest and have no problem it is just my computer seems to get mopey when I click not right now LOL Soooo annoying. It does that with AVG too but nothing to set me off like losing a drawing. Just means I need to take a few and come back to it though. Lascaux is still my fave program :) Oh and *waves at Marcello* Hey stranger! :) To Karl: I am loving the colors you used for this.

I like Staci's idea, something more like Daily Deviations would be cool. The whole 'like and dislike button system' seems like it would be counterproductive because it allows people to judge anonymously and without explanation, making the showcase purely a popularity contest (opposed to a place to display the sites more skillful or innovative or interesting digital art). And yes, judging things like this would be subjective but could be relatively objective if there was some loose criteria to be met that we all agreed on (I mean, don't most prominent and respected award systems work in such a way?).

Thinking about it now I think there are pretty solid reasons a lot of pieces were showcases like this one. There was a collective evolution of skill as 2draw developed from when I joined in 2004. There seemed to be a point where the bar was raised weekly for a few years and then we got to now where it has kind of gone stagnant. We are left to look at the current content as a whole and maybe a lot doesn't fit, but when it was showcased it was amazing, inspiring, or whatever at the time it as created.
