I was saving a pic to make sure there was a back up for just in case, but when I saved there is none just a thumnail with an x in it, where did my pic go? it is called dog. I was using oekshi painter

It is a known bug in oekaki shi-painter. In the process of fixing it, there were sadly a few casualties. If you took screenshots of the drawings I can restore them, otherwise there is nothing I can do.

I was using lascaux and the same thing just happened to me

Yep lascaux too ... just lost a painting I liked a lot, but my fault not to take a screencap.
