Everyone here knows the best way to get the cardboard tube off of the little spring loaded dowel rod on the toilet paper dispenser, I would assume. But just in case, lets hear your method.

haha... since no one else besides myself seems to know how to replace it with a full roll... (even though I have held NUMEROUS classes on it)...I like to rig it where it's barely in there and the spring pops when you touch it and it SHOOTS across the room. I bought a brass one with a really tight spring, just for that effect. THAT'S THE TRUTH.

but I'm asking what method you use to get the empty cardoard tube off of the dispenser?

I always rig it when it gets to the point where you can see the cardboard, there's like just enough to wipe with, and when they touch it to get the last few sheets off, it pops out, it really shoots across the room, and usually the cardboard and the last couple of sheets come off of the little dowel thing. It's so funny... most people "yelp", and I know it "worked". I'm so evil. Even if they don't look around the bathroom to find the "dowel" thingy and put new toilet paper on, it's totally satisfying.

What method do you use to compress the spring loaded dowel so that you can remove it, or in your case, into position?

Are you meaning if I don't intend to have any fun with it, and I'm just gonna take the old cardboard thing off and re-load it myself? I press the dowel thingy into the left side of the holder so the right side releases, I tip it downward (the bathroom trash can is directly under it). I haven't done that in a while... I'm totally fed up with being a Bosque County housewife, I'm revolting. I either rig it, or I hide a roll where no one but me can find it.

We just have hooks which the toilet roll hangs from. When it needs to be changed, it is simply slid off one end, and replaced with a fresh one. =]

So complex, why not just rip the tube off, throw it out, and simply replace it?

We don't have nifty spring-thingies for our toilet rolls, just like HK said, we have simple hooklike holders for our tp.

I usually just hold the other side of the spring down, that usually does the trick. :}

Same here, sincity.

I usually sell the house and buy a new one with a fresh roll in the bathroom

LMAO David...
This talk about tp-rolls makes me think about when I was still at ground school. Every now and then we were told to keep the rolls and bring them to school for arts and crafts. Fun days those where, bags and bags of empty tp-rolls.

Ya just pinch the cardboard tube at one end between thumb and forefinger, applying pressure to the spring loaded dowel between your fingers, push sideways compressing the spring. No digging with your finger on the edge of the tube to get to the lip of the rod in order to compress it. That way no one gets hurt. :)

i just leave the naked tube on the spring-thing and put a new roll of paper on the back of the toilet for someone else to change :]

Next we will be talking about which side the end of the tissue paper should be. The back or the front. lol!

Both ways have their ups and downs.
