I like this a lot, the poem and the tree. I used to rifle hunt (okay, snipe) deer out of one almost exactly like this... but it was dead, you see, and one day it just kinda "falled" over. :)

maybe it's just me and my vivid imagination...but I see figures, forms of people in parts of the tree, especially the trunk... there's a man in there...

Congratulations elly! "The Silver Tree Stands Alone" is awarded first place for Contest Week 29: Make it Metal! Elly's use of reflected light, high-contrast highlights and gradients makes this tree indeed look like it's made out of silver. Also, the warm foreground and a cool-colored background give this piece a well rounded color-composition and completed look. It looks rather sharp, well done Elly.
