Wake up to a sunny day, not a cloud up in the sky
Then it starts to rain, my defenses hit the ground
And they shatter all around, so open and exposed
I found strength in the struggle
Face to face with my trouble

Little girl don't be so blue
I know what you're goin' through
Don't let it beat you up
Heaven knows that getting scars
Only makes you who you are
No matter how much your heart is aching
There is beauty in the breaking

When you're broken in a million little pieces
And you're trying but you can't hold on anymore
Every tear falls down for a reason
Don't you stop believing in yourself
When you're broken

Better days are gonna find you once again
Every piece will find its place
When you're broken, when you're broken
When you're broken in a million little pieces
And you're trying but you can't hold on anymore
Every tear falls down for a reason
Don't you stop believing in yourself
When you're broken
Oh, when you're broken
When you're broken

I borrowed a ballerina from one of Dega's paintings. I don't think he'd mind. Not that he'd recognize her now, anyway.

I have a musical jewelry box that I have had since I was 8. The ballerina is broken, but it still plays music and she dances anyway, and I like it so I keep it.

I'm so bleary eyed that I can't really see it that well, but if you say so I'll believe it. :) Thank you.

This is the most beautiful piece of art I've seen of yours lately!!!! I like it so much I wish I could put it on my desktop. It's graceful and touching and I love the colors of the flowers and softness of the background. The expression of her facial features is lovely. Good work, Cindy, this is worthy of the showcase in my book.

Thank you very much, but I can't take credit for anything except looking at Dega's painting and trying to emulate it. I love his dancers.

haha I was gunna say "how very Dega of you" but then read all the comments you made about it and it became pointless to say lol. I agee with you though, he's amazing. We used to have to emulate famous artists in elementary school and one was Dega's ballerinas. Needless to say this far surpasses any of that lol.

simply elegant and emotional
woah_pockster (Sep 19, 2006)
my favorite of your's. no doubt.
Sweetcell (Sep 19, 2006)
Something I thought I commented on. One of my favorites of yours, the texture adds so much to the piece, making it seem more like canvas. If someone were to see this they would think it was a Degas, that was my first thought as well. Just beautiful Miss Cindy.

I like this so very much! Her face... so pretty!
