Well, i know it's in your profile, but I thought it would be interesting to say where you're from. Obviously I don't mean ur physical address, just the country or whatever! ^_^
To start it off, I'm from South Africa... so, who's next? ;-)
  icon
Deino (Aug 8, 2006)
I'm from Mèxico, Mèxico City to be precise. So, how it is to live in South Africa?
  icon
davincipoppalag (Aug 8, 2006)

GreenEye (Aug 8, 2006)
Cool stuff! South Africa is, well, unique I suppose! It's really wierd in some areas cuz one minute it's houses and the next it's open areas and amazing scenery! If u can block out the taxi's, then life is good! ^_^

xiau (edited Aug 8, 2006)
Alabama, right by the coast so we get lots of lovely hurricanes.
  icon
Gemmy619 (Aug 8, 2006)
West Yorkshire England, nothing really interesting to say about it lol
  icon
hi1022 (Aug 8, 2006)
I'm about a mile away from xiau. So yah, many, many joyous hurricanes! Especially this time of the year.

Colorado, USA here. I live in the shadow of the front range of the Rocky Mountains for 14 years now, originally from 'Down South'. The scenery is amazing here, the Summer is hot and dry and the Winters are always sub-zero and snowy. There are a lot of hippies and religious fanatics here- I'm not one of them. ;)

I'm from New Zealand, I thought we had the moa?
Oh and South Africa totally lost the trinations to us. I think.
  icon
Sweetcell (Aug 8, 2006)
Winnipeg Canada, yup a canuck here. Hot humid heavy in the summer (specially this summer) and cold as a witches tit in winter. We love our hot chocolate and bulky coats up here. Deeva I'd love to see the Rocky's, it's all prairie here so the only tall thing I see are buildings. Must be quite a site.

I'm from New York..... In a small hamlet called Dalton.... A little part of a small town called Nunda. I'm surrounded by brainless rednecks. Go figure, eh?

  icon

Polythene how could New Zealand have the Mall of America??
Oh, I do beg your pardon then.
I took that as exactly the other way around. I was thinking "there's Moas in Minnesota? How freaky! I didn't think they were native on this continent...." LOL. I guess everyone interprets things differently.
Sweetcell- I've been to Canada before- I was amazed at the beautiful lanscape there and all the wildlife, and the people were so friendly. Some of the language differences were entertaining though. The word 'tampon' (rubber stamp) means something totally different here, as with the word 'douche' which really just means something like 'bathing' in English. In french-speaking parts of Canada, I can honestly claim that I douche every day! ;D
We saw a billboard targeting women who were 'a la mode' (fashionable). All I could think was 'I'll bet they get cold with all that ice cream on them'... Canada was fun. Lord help me if I ever visit France!
  icon
Sweetcell (Aug 8, 2006)
LOL, that's just funny Deeva. So you douche everyday. Hilarious. I'd love to see something taller than grass myself. :D

patienceisoverrated (Aug 8, 2006)
Calgary, Alberta. Where the weather is almost as fucked up as the politics. We did invent ginger beef, though, and proud of it.

Sweetcell- I've always prefered the prairies to the mountains. Mountains make me feel boxed in.

I'm from Lancashire in the UK, but at the moment I'm studying in Auckland, NZ.
You'd have a hard time finding two places further apart :S
  icon

Eww, Auckland.

Can't wait until break. Only a week to go, hurrah! I'll let you off the hook about the auckland thing since you're foreign anyway :P
  icon
Sweetcell (Aug 9, 2006)
Patience, lucky you. Isn't it strange how people wish to see things other people are sick of. I assure you you'll be bored within an hour. Miles and miles of farm land. *yawn*

Terrible to hear that's species is extinct.

  icon

Hey Davinci, I was born in Connecticut. :D

I live in Northern Virginia (or NoVA, near DC), in Fairfax County. People who live in NoVA are very adamant that we, in fact, live in NoVA, and not another part of Virginia. It is very important to us.

COME ON GUYS LET'S PARTY ON DOWN IN HICKSVILLE TOWN.
We can watch my neighbors build fires as tall as their house by burning limbs, and then watch as their kids roast marshmallows in it. Which they really do.

Ahh I love my redneck community.
  icon
broken-lock14 (Aug 10, 2006)
I remember one of my neighbors used to have a horse in their front yard. Even though front yard = a few square feet of grass and I don't live in a rural area. :'D And my grandparents have chickens in their backyard (+ they used to raise bunnies~:o ).

The weirdness is kind of enjoyable. 8D

I live in the most dullest place ever D:
I wish I lived in a big city~
  icon
xiau (Aug 10, 2006)
Dull? Ina, you get to see tons of J-rock bands >_o I would kill for that.

And big cities are no fun >D>; I live in a little itty bitty city with a very low population, and I like it that way. We went through Atlanta City in Goergia once and it was TERRIBLE D: It's like, super bright at night and really noisy. And the TRAFFIC JAMS. Agghhh D:
  icon
broken-lock14 (Aug 10, 2006)
I like my town~ Even though most of the population is a bit...dumbtarded. :X There's lots of nice old people, though. And pretty scenery and ducks and stuff.

I want to visit Finland. =^+__o^= And a lot of other countries in Europe.
  icon
Pakasutemanshikuka (Aug 10, 2006)
I have no clue why some foreign people want to visit Finland.. when I'm in our capital city Helsinki, and I see tourists, I wonder how did they get there because I don't find Finland intresting 8D; But I always get a heartattack when I see tourists~

Rinaa! I mostly ment the house, and the stuff around it =] I like living here but I like city life more. I'm just weird~ I'd love to live in Helsinki again. I enjoyed living there~ Okay I live near it but blah. But I thank God (even I don't believe in God =]) for the J-rock bands ;_;! After all... Finland is a pretty good country to live in. I'm happy to live here XD;; Byyyyyye.
  icon
xiau (Aug 10, 2006)
I saw some tourists walking around in our town once, and I laughed. A lot. And I went "What brings you to our ugly, hot-and-sticky area?" and when they say "the beach" I ask them why they want to see our polluted shark-infested beaches. Then I usually stop harassing them and let them continue their jolly little trip.

HAY GUYS let's all gather up in Finland!
  icon
broken-lock14 (Aug 10, 2006)
I'll bring the drinks! 8D *holds up a cooler full of juice boxes*

Tourists have absolutely no reason whatsoever to come here, but they still do. Maybe they just find my town quaint or something. =^>x>^=
