ref: a photo I took in my garden one night last week. I changed it some, I usually do, even when doing realism and working from a photograph.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jun 2, 2006)
drawn in 52 min
In the winding down hours
I let your heart down again
Old habits die hard
I always end up hating the end
(What did I do to make a scene so gory?)
(I'm no better than the ones before me)

DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Jun 5, 2006)
drawn in 35 min
I'm in the middle of a breakdown
Watching you scream
In the middle of a breakdown
Screaming at me
And by the way
By the way
What made you think you'd have it your way?
And by the way
By the way
Don't say I didn't warn you
That I'll always stay the same
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Jun 5, 2006)
drawn in 40 min
Speechless and frozen
Uncomfortable silence again
(What did I do to make a scene so gory?)
(I'm no better than the ones before me)
I'm in the middle of a breakdown
Watching you scream
In the middle of a breakdown
Screaming at me
And by the way
By the way
What made you think you'd have it your way?
And by the way
By the way
Don't say I didn't warn you
That I'll always stay the same
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jun 3, 2006)

Battered and bruised
Broken, confused
It's time we both knew
Can't stop what I started
This time we both lose, lose
And by the way
By the way
What made you think you'd have it your way
And by the way
By the way

Don't say I didn't warn you
That I'll always stay the same
The same, the same,
I'll always stay the same
(battered and bruised)
The same, (broken, confused), the same
Didn’t I warn you that I'd always stay the same

absolutely stunning! It looks like 2draw will start on fire with the realism of that flame...HOLY COW! and I LOVE YOUR FLOWERS!! oh my gosh are they ALL YOURS? they're just beautiful. If flowers don't make you happy, nothin' will....I love mine, too!
solve (Jun 5, 2006)
I like the flame a lot. Has a nice motion to it. To me this has a different look from your usual works. Something about the texture...
Pseudonymous (Jun 5, 2006)
Typical Cindy. Gorgeous, innovative, and with a little touch of love. :)
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Jun 5, 2006)
thanks, DJ... and yes they are all mine...there are more, even... they are EVERYWHERE! It can be a lot of work, but I love growing them. solve, thank you... the style is a little bit different...I started to take it up one more notch to try for more photo-realism but I like it better like this, so I stopped.

Thanks so much, Leah. :)
davincipoppalag (Jun 5, 2006)
This is so good..and to think you can do this while you're singin.. jeebus
Axil62 (Jun 5, 2006)
Great balls of fire! That bamboo is as good as the flame and that flame is as good as .... well... fire.
artguy79 (Jun 6, 2006)
thats great, A+++
Sweetcell (Jun 6, 2006)
It's your ability to do fire that always impresses me and I wish I knew how exactly. I know I know copy what you see in front of you but we all know it's not easy and there's more to it. Get yourself over to Wiki girlfriend and put up soe tips. That bamboo is amazing. Jealousy bubbles...... ;)
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jun 6, 2006)
I learned quickly that fire and water are two of the simplest things to do. The trouble comes with trying to make it more complicated than it is. I'll go there and see if I can figure out how to post something explaining the simplicity of it... I taught someone here how to do water just by explaining what I saw... directing them to view it as I saw it, and that was all it took. It's really about how you see things, and fire, for me, is one of the simplest and most satisfying things to paint.
HunterKiller_ (Jun 6, 2006)
I like those things.
Looking at fire and water as a whole is complex when drawing. The way i look at it is break everything down to individual blobs/streaks/whatever of the same colour, basically.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jun 6, 2006)
Exactly, you have the concept perfectly... with fire and water the individual "blobs/streaks/whatever" as you put it, are very simplistic and easy to reproduce.
JK-Arts (Jun 6, 2006)
cool
marcello (Jun 7, 2006)
you know, this would look a million times better if you went over the edges and added edge clarity with a 1pixel antialias brush.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jun 7, 2006)
okay, I'll try that
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jun 7, 2006)
drawn in 28 min
There, your Highness. :) I didn't do all of the edges because... because.. I'm lazy? I actually see where it could use a lot of work still after looking at it again, but...naw, I don't wanna do it.
Sweetcell (Jun 8, 2006)
Oh you nit picker, looks the same, well maybe cleaner. I know it's a matter of looking and seeing all the little individual streaks and blobs, for me though when water say has so many reflections of other colors it's tedious having to come up with the proper color from the pallette, but I'll be looking over the Wiki when your done. Thanks for explaining it HK and Cindy.
tandrew971 (Jun 9, 2006)
i like this alot.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jun 9, 2006)
thank you, and thanks for the support, Sweet, but... he really wasn't nit picking... I knew I should have worked it up a little more, and what he said to do is really what it needs... the reason it still basically looks the same is because I only did a "little" of what he said to do. :)
Knockoff (Jun 9, 2006)
You just make me jealous. :[
Sweetcell (Jun 9, 2006)
I know Cindy, I was teasing cause it's what I do.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jun 9, 2006)
I know! I do that, too. 'Course I know you knew that I knew you were kidding. Hey... knew is one of those words that looks really funny if you see it more than once in a few seconds.
darkshadow (Jun 12, 2006)
i see you are playing with fire again Cindy
the bambo looks great
