I like the shading quite a lot, Emily. You are in need of a clean up, getting rid of the sketchyness. Maybe add whiskers, a bit more of a mouth line, tension in the mouth line, and a nose. That's my big problem....where is the nose?
Yes, that would help a bit, good point April.I also think for this eye, you should have a variety of colours, starting with the lightest at the pupil and then going out (tie-dye designish). It would add a hint of animal eye to it.
It's very good. If I may be so rude as to butt my head in where it does not belong, I don't think you should feel offended. They aren't trying to me mean and pick on your drawings, just giving a tiny bit of critique so you can learn and grow to be better than before. In my opinion it's very nice, however, I agree it could use some fixing up (then again I need a lot of fixing up myself). As for the eye I doubt they ment an anime eye, more along the lines of a different shading or shape of some sort. Sorry if I seem really rude ^^; I don't mean to be.
I like teh shading in the grass and sky, you still need to fix up the sketchyness... who am I to talk? I dunno... I can't draw *shrugs**fades away into darkness*
