change the layer to multiply, then color on a layer below it.

it shouldn't be too hard to avoid covering the black with the coloring - Lascuax is the ultimate layering applet. if you have trouble using 'multiply' or wahtever, simply click and drag the layer with the line art higher on the cue than the blank page that you want to use the colors on.

Okay, lemme guess: The layer with the lineart on it isn't transparent? You can try Flood+Erase, it's worked for me before...

it just won't work..grrr..its being mean...i tried what marcello said but it ont work..i'm just having horrible luck with this..its not cool
