Im making up my own charcters at the moment.Ive been planing alot, But here are their names: Ryu, Skye, And takashi. Well ill make the picture later .Ill give it my best shot!^_^

if you need names. i can make tons off the top of my head.

I used to go to baby name websites and copy thousands of names onto my computer, and then sort through them deleting everything I didn't like. Now if I want a character name I have a list of hundreds plus what they mean.

i hate coming up with names, so i don't bother D<<< good anmes so far tho :3 wonder how they'll look :D

Last names tend to be a bugger. Therefore, play with your tongue and find something you like.

There is some kind of star wars naming system that is great for names.
I don't remember how it goes, but maybe you could google it.

Ryu/Ryuu is a WAY too common name D: especially for OCs.

Yea, those names are pretty miserable and unoriginal. You need to design the characters first (personality, backstory, and visual design), then pick a name that fits with the character. Then again if your characters are miserable and unoriginal, feel free to ignore this comment.

Dont listen to Marcello, its a trick. This is what you do.

Pick someone elses name, like your favorite anime character. Then use that character as yours, but instead make their hair another color. Also sun glasses, they need sun glasses. Trust me.
After that make up a story, it doesnt have to be well thought out, say something like "The Dark lord gloritgh killed said characters family, and now its time for revengence". Also include the following: Angels, mech, giant swords, a love triangle, some kind of cutesy animal, etc etc. That right there is the secret to being great.

I do the baby name thing too, redpanda. :] Generally now though, I just pick a name that I think fits a character. My earlier character names are weird, for lack of anything else to call them:

Calladyn, Edessi, and Dhamon for example. Or Cavan. But now I just stick with Daniel or Vincent or Susan or Gary. Whatever fits.

Another secret to be great is to use japanese names that mean carrot, beans, etc.... and they still sound good for us.

Or you could use some famous name like Yoda...

sometimes ordinary names work well. I have a character I named Alice Smith because I was tired of overly flamboyant/stereotypical fantasy character names. The actual character is in anything but ordinary circumstances, but the name reflects her personality and the way she handles the situations she's in.

Someone should use the name "Fash ToDormition" for a serious character...
