sorry if this is quasi off topic.. i dont think it is at least.. delete it if you want, marcello.
what kinds of programs do you guys use besides the stuff on here? i have paintshop pro 7, and painter. paintshop pro is a really nice program and im used to it, but usually when i save the pics get grainy.. or maybe im just picky.. and i still havent figured out painter completely... the layers are a bit different than what im used to. anyone use adobe? or have any tips for painter, or saving images in psp so theyre less grainy? like which formats are better and whatnot? and if your wondering the whole point of this would be me re-doing my sites layout as im getting bored with my site and it needs a makeover or something.. thanks -mazi |

The best program for webdesign is macromedia fireworks mx, hands down. I'll sometimes (rarely) use Photoshop for more photo-oriented parts of webdesign, but layout and whatnot all is much easier in fireworks. Hell, definitely worth the price is studio mx, with fireworks, dreamweaver, and flash mx. Then again, I got a deal, so dunno how much it costs right now.
Now that's just for web design. For other things, like drawing, I don't really have a preference. I liked the painter 7 trial, but that expired... It's too expensive right now, but a nice program. I don't know about the light or earlier versions. Actually, at the moment, I only use lascaux sketch for drawing. It's personally my favorite, over even desktop programs. I've messed a little with brushes in photoshop 7, but I don't really like it for drawing stuff. For photo manip, definitely photoshop (duh). It's got everything you need, and more. |
