Opium (Feb 23, 2006)
Oh wow terra....every time i think a picture of yours can't get any better, you show yourself up one! hehe Awesome job :) the feeling of the silk is just great. I am ever impressed with your ability to create these faces that don't look anything like the last one. You know, usually a person's faces mimic all the ones they've ever done, but yours all have such unique characteristics. Bravo! :)
Protocom-iko (Feb 23, 2006)
I'd say this is one of the most best kimono paintings ive ever laid eyes on(showcase) bravo! bravo!

terracotta (Feb 25, 2006)
Thank you all for your generous comments and for inclusion in the Showcase. I am pleased you like it. I drew most of it twice because the first time I'd nearly finished when my electricity went off and I lost the entire thing. I think someone besides Axel62 doesn't like me. I think the god of electricity has it in for me in a big way :P
Artiste (Feb 26, 2006)
The color choice, the pose, composition, look in her eye, even the blur in the background... absolutely beautiful and sexy.
laurael (Feb 26, 2006)
Everything about this screams, "Look at me..."

Sweetcell (Feb 28, 2006)
Absolutely jaw droppingly stunning.... how did you do this so quick? 15 minutes, 37 seconds... dear God.... THAT SILK..... She looks like a Silver Screen actress that I can't place.... Lord, this is beautiful. Put in a shop it woould sell quick. Congratulations on Showcase Terra, this is so deserving.
terracotta (Mar 1, 2006)
You should ignore the clock on this. If I remember correctly, the 37 seconds was a result of something that happens periodically--the tools just seem to stop working--I did a refresh to restore the temp applet. The last time would not be accurate either as I knew I was nearing my limit and left the program open. I'd say 4-5 hours is about how long I worked on the picture, in total.
HunterKiller_ (Mar 2, 2006)
That silk makes me drool.
Gigge (Mar 19, 2006)
The silk begs to be touched. The soft glow is fabulous.

dorothyblueeyes (Apr 30, 2011)
Not Elizabeth Taylor? Uh....that 70's actress, who was in "Valley of the Dolls"? Anyhow, it's beautiful texture in all areas, so nice. Wonderful feel to it, and accurate.
Imperfect (Oct 3, 2011)
So amazing. One of the most beautiful photorealistic pieces I've ever seen.
dorothyblueeyes (Oct 7, 2011)
Very beautiful. I think I know the difference between me and many of the other painters here, now.For example, this is very smooth, finished, and slick. It' very professional. Good job. I do not tend to like going all the way to smooth, finished, and photo-like. I like the paint(figuratively) to look and feel like paint.I even like it similar to paint, messy and gooey. And there seems to be a tendency here, to like everything very smooth, slick, and finished. Guess I am out of the groove. I just like allowing for different styles, and different veiwpoints of what painting and drawing is.
Teapot (Apr 5, 2016)
Actually, Dot, this is quite impressionistic compared to the photograph, not an attempt at photo-realism at all.
davincipoppalag (Mar 9, 2017)
I wish more were drawing
