Yeah, the thumb irritates me, you can see watching the animation.. thing is, I held my hand in front of me and near as I can tell this it how it looked.. probably got the shadows wrong though, I"ll clean it up in my next revision XD Thanks!

I think it looks pretty close, but maybe the base of the thumb is a bit too high and needs to angle down more? I like the snowflake.

this is great especially for pratice !! but maybe you could just spread the thumb and the pointer finger farther apart because from this angle it looks like they are attached maybe its just the way you wanted it but you giving some information great job though i love the colors !!!! :D
