Awwww.... this is precious. Your dog? My daughter adopted a stray dog many years ago when she was very little, just an "Old Yeller" sort of dog, we named him "Orphie" and took care of him until he died. (he was rather old when he stumbled upon us, to begin with) This kind of reminds me of him.
I really like how this has some of the characteristics of watercolor, it has a light feeling, but it's rich and deep with color, still.
DBA: Not my dog, but I have met her. She belongs to someone I work with. The painting was done on request. This one is a very sweet lab. I think lab's tend to be very gentle and sensitive dogs. Its great that you gave that stray a home for the 'winter' of his life. Did he end up responding to his new name at his age?
Thanks for your positive comments everyone.
Yes, I agree, we have a black lab and a golden retriever. He did... I don't think he'd ever had a home at all, so he was happy to be called by any name.
That's sweet. I cant have a dog right now cause of where I live, but when I am able I plan on giving a home to an older dog. I think they end up being very loyal.
Why do dogs look at us out of the 'corner of their eyes'? Have you ever noticed that cats can't do that. Cows do it. So do horses. Goats don't. ...wanders off in search of a Conrad Lorenz book...Tis a beautiful, heart-tuggin' rendering, 'Tiste.
