I don't really think so (and I'm sure you can see the stuff wrong with it better than I can)... I did it for my daughter. Thank you, though.
kristine: in the original Amityville movie, Jodi was in the form of a pig with glowing red eyes (it's really a much better movie than the new one)
I agree about the first version of the movie being better. This is a great house Cindy...well done as usual! Hey, you're a great artist..all of your work is just varying levels of greatness..that's the way I look at it. Isn't the sky sometimes black? I often wonder about artist's critiques saying it should be this or that...if you wanted it different, wouldn't it be so? That's how I see it. God knows if you wanted pigs flyin around the house, there they'd be, squealin like crazy....lol
DBA: The sky actually isn't black. A sampling of the color reveals that it's RGB 30, 34, 35, which is actually just a very dark grey. Maybe you have your monitor's contrast turned up too high? It's not really a big deal. Pretty cool picture you got here. It really strengthens my hankering for a good scary movie or videogame.
Well, yeah, guess I shouldn't have said "black"... which would be the total absence of color and not good to use in art as it reflects no light at all. I intentionally try to make sure I don't use pure black, I wanted it to appear as dark as possible without actually "being black" (how'd you do the color analysis thing, smarty britches? :) Thanks for the nice comment, appreciate that. :)
Cindy...I so want some of your paintings on my walls...damn this is great! You're style is one I love so much. You could reference anything and it is just so uniquely yours. Love this!
I'm always at a loss for words when I look at your pics, which is why I never say anything! However, if you use a PC, there are two tools which would help with the colour analysis.
The tool I use, as I am a Firefox junkie, is an extension called Colorzilla and you can get it at http://www.iosart.com/firefox/colorzilla. It sits in the Status Bar, click on it, then on the part of the screen you want, and it displays the RGB and Hex codes for that colour in the Status Bar. Eyedropper has a few more features and you can still download a freeware version from http://www.inetia.com/eng/eyedropper_eng.php. As it's a software tool, it's separate from your browser. I don't know if there's anything similar for Macs.
I upload the picture in Photoshop, use that eyedropper thing, then click on the little box that shows your current color and it shows all of the information on it.
Great job, DBA!! I love the amazing detail on this one!
I have photoshop, recently, but I haven't figured out how to use it yet... I'm too lazy (and it's hunting season lol)... and I hate all that technical stuff. Thanks all for the tips, though. Maybe someday I won't be too blonde to use them. ;)
That's one spookie house...great job. I think a faint silouette of trees with a orangish yellow tint to the sky might add a sense of dept to the otherwise outstanding picture.
