Well technically you could call anyone with an addition of "-chan" but I think it's mostly used for kids/pets (kind of a cutesy way to call them I guess). After all, my Japanese friends' moms used to call me with a "-chan" ending when I was younger :-/...
-Actually, I just remembered I call my Japanese grandparents "Ojii-chan" and "Oba-chan" too. So yeah, there's basically an all around use, but you wouldn't wanna call your business partner "-chan" cause that'd just be weird. In more proper cases like that, you might add a "-san."
