Well, it shouldn't. Just because you don't get your picture thrown up on this topic doesn't mean people don't like your art. Most people just pick the art that has the most popularity and say it's there favorites. Trust me, you have good art. When it comes down to it, you draw not for others satisfaction, but your own. You should have pride in your art.

nope, im pretty sure favorite artist is a bad one since it makes people feel like crap. and im pretty sure its been done already. plus people just list their friends, not their favorite artists :P

I'm not upset that no one chose my work because I do not believe that I am a great artist. I do not put forth much effort, but then again, I have to patience to. Lol. What is upsetting though is looking at the work and realizing how great some of these people are. I have a few favorites, and yes, they are generally my freinds. I like to keep updated in my freinds art. Xod, Cloxboy,Mazi, and Solve are a few I look at. I also look at FoR arts, but he hasnt really done anything. Another person's art I Really enjoy is Childlike_Vampire. I'm into the more Demented art, or the more nudish art. A few that i can also name is probably Seanamore, Hakkai, Sal, and Redpanda. There are probably a lot more I like. Those are the few that I think really stick out to me. ^^

I love anything by Alex-Cooper or Mazi, I adore their work! Ah... but it's so hard to choose... I love all the art on here, everything from beginner to elite, it's all interesting and beautiful. Still, Mazi and Alex-Cooper are freakin' wicked.

Yes, it would be unfair to list them all since there's always going to be that one person who would think "hey you missed me! T_T". I have seen some unbelievable talent on this site; which was also the first time I've come to know that people could really devote their time on drawing online rather than doing art with real materials. From that moment on, I knew it was possible to be that patient and persistent at the same time with a mouse or some other (tablet). A lot of the great art I've seen are all in different styles of art: fantasy, surreal, sci-fi, "mecha" and robots, anime or cartoons, realistic art, a very interesting one was a stained-glass art, impressionist and expressionist, cubist art, and lastly even popart. There were also other ones that a combination of each style. So far those are the works I've seen here that were impressive enough. I can't say for certain that my favorite artist here is at least one or two. You could say almost every person who created at least one good art to be your favorite even though you could only limit yourself to one good art, in comparison to maybe one person who's gallery is loaded with great art. I guess it doesn't really matter too much.

Giselle is right. They're popular because of their art. Nobody even really knows anyone here, so it's not based on personality or anything like that. I also hardly doubt people are jumping the bandwagon either. Van Gogh wasn't popular because he was a fun, lovable guy. Nobody even gave a shit about him until he died. He was popular because of his art.

Some people think Salvador Dali is popular and overrated because of his odd personality and wild showmanship. I don't believe that though. He's a great artist in my mind either way.

lol I would say that my art in deviantart are better than on here. lol Most of those are in different mediums, that's why, and I've spent more hours on the ones I've painted and drawn with pencil than these! lol But I do admit, the ones that I've done here took a lot more adjusting with the mouse and experimenting with the applets. All those "drawing for fun" with MS Paint, really paid off! lol

I like those ones that you've chosen, Moosh. They're such inventive pictures done by great artists. I think I "give a crap" more with these forums than the showcase pictures or arts. Sometimes I come to like the artist more with their personality rather than the pictures; sometimes there are some really great pictures done by people who don't have a great personality; so sometimes I'll only like those people who have great pictures with great personality. But then again, there are some people who are just plain nice, yet somehow struggle with their art. Either way, I can come to appreciate the art more of the people who are nice rather than just "tolerable". As I always say... OK, maybe not by me but I always like this quote: "It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice." Pip pip cheerio!
