I don't know where I'm going with this... already lost one finished version. I think I will leave it unfinished one more time and see if I can complete it in the future.
comd (Apr 16, 2006)
Very nice! looks very natural.
solve (Apr 16, 2006)
Very nice mimic of water color works. Ive always had a taste for such.
TaCO (Apr 16, 2006)
O.O A dragon bird????
Shoebox (Apr 16, 2006)
Looks like it was actually painted with bamboo brush. I like the mountain best.

as finished as I'll ever be...
Sweetcell (Jun 1, 2006)
This is supposed to be like an ancient Japanese scroll is it not? I've always loved the minimilism the Japanese use when they paint, and drawing with Japanese brushes are not as easy as one thinks. It's pretty Cello.

I think the waters too purple. Should be a lighter blue.
xiau (Jun 1, 2006)
Ahh, I like the little bird. It looks like it's breathing fire :D
The simplicity is really pretty, and I have to wonder how you got those textures.
Sweetcell (Jun 1, 2006)
xiau, the spacing bar under the opacity and flow brushes. When you space it near to the right and use a med small brush you get these dotted textures. I love the spacebar tool. Awesome things can come of it as you see.

Unless I'm wrong Marcello, you can correct me.
Axil62 (Jun 1, 2006)
You made this pikshur rilly good.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Jun 1, 2006)
No, I'm going to have to agree. I like the little redbird.
and the purple road, especially
marcello (Jun 1, 2006)
nope, didn't use spacing for this. exploiting spacing is really only useful for drawing dotty stuff.
Axil62 (Jun 1, 2006)
You did use burn tho right?
Sweetcell (Jun 1, 2006)
Well thanks for clearing that up......

hmmm believe him or not?
marcello (Jun 1, 2006)
I used color burn for the layer mode, yea. not really any other way to get that effect.
for the background I used the random noise feature, flood fill, and blur. and I think some layer cloning/moving, but don't remember.
Axil62 (Jun 1, 2006)
I'll have to remember those moves. :)
Sweetcell (Jun 1, 2006)
Random noise feature? That's one I never heard of. Have to go back to the tutor to find out.

Lascaux definately needs an animation feature. Would love to see how this was done.
hideyourface (edited Jun 2, 2006)
you got rid of the champloo ;_; oh well, this looks good too. The style is very inspiring.
HunterKiller_ (Jun 4, 2006)
Something different. It's very nice.
Pseudonymous (Jul 9, 2006)
If there was a favorite artwork feature here, I would fav this.
marcello (Jul 9, 2006)
O RLY?
Pseudonymous (edited Jul 10, 2006)
YA RLY.
Speaking of which. What do you think about that idea? A favorite artwork feature? Or something that everyone can vote and the highest voted have a section all their own? I dunno. Just thoughts.
marcello (Jul 11, 2006)
reeks of popularity contest.
Suntan (Dec 31, 2010)
cool effect on this, marcello. :)
backmagicwoman (Dec 31, 2010)
Preety cool...you should draw here more.
Suntan (Dec 31, 2010)
doesn't it remind you of the Lascaux cave paintings? ...before I read the title, I thought that initially.
