**i posted the same msg at the unixdaemons msgboard cos i really need the information so pls help me if you can, thanks**
hi everyone,
i think this should be the correct place to post thess questions.
i have never been to europe, so i don't know how it's like... i have the opportunity to participate in an exchange program where i'll be posted to a university in europe for four months, the allowance is 4000 euros. although the probability of getting selected is very slim, i will still give it a try, so here are my questions:

Q1: can i survive in countries like france, sweden, germany speaking only english?
Q2: will 4000 euros last me four months? it is supposed to cover everything from airfare, accomodation, to food and stuff
Q3: do you know of any good universities? i am doing IT-related stuff like e-commerce, e-learning.

i really need some advice, thanks a lot a lot :')

Q1: As long as you stay in the university, you'll be able to survive... :)
Q2: Don't worry about money, 4000? is good for 4 months
Q3: Nope, sorry :)
I hope it'll be helpfull ...

Some people in France speak English because of tourism and such. But you should still stay near the university. My advise is to pick up a copy of French 1. It's pretty basic and you should be fine.

4000 euros is plenty enough :)

Only been there once. Fell asleep halfway through one of the tours. Didn't see any universities... Sorry. The guy was monotonous... Z.Z

hmm, i live in belguim and i'm at 'leuven' university....it has the reputation to be the best in belgium, but i don't know about sweden and germany and france....(hmm, i do know that sweden is veeeery expensive)
i also don't know anything about what you're studying and how that's given here...
there are alot of foreign students here(mostly asian though) and they mostly speak english ...(everyone here understands english, but i don't know wheater or not all courses are given in english)
and 4000 euros should do, even if your airfare is expensive
