well I've been having some trouble with my line art and drawing hair, does anyone have any suggestions, or tecniques?

You can't make the strands look too thick and it'll take a while it you want to make thin strands. It really all depends on the hair style your going for, though. Long hair is tricky for me (I mean loooong girl hair that exceeds shoulder length). I don't know.. It really hard to explain.

Whenever I do lineart, I try to make the lines thicker and thinner depending on where the light source is. For example if the light is coming in from the right, you'd have the right most lines thinner, and the left lines thicker. What kind of problems exactly are you having with lineart?

well like in anime for example!(i really want to draw anime good)

I think the longer you take on lineart the better it looks, well it works for me..... but the only reason mine still does'nt look good is because my pateice is low. I like the way you put it mortalpoet, I will try that sometime. And hair, well it's just like there......can't give useful hints on that....

Curly hair is difficult, I can almost never draw that... <:/

Um, I can tell you how I do my line art but I dunno if it's what you're looking for, but here goes anyway.
I actually start off with a high opacity airbrush tool and choose the color I wanna use for the line art and draw it with a slightly thicker line than I would want to have it in the completed piece.Then I go back and shape those lines and thin them out using the Eraser Smooth tool.It actually makes the process less stressful.Now if you were using a pencil, it's a whole 'nother story...

you want to talk to me about lineart?? *gaggs* look at my "depressions bondage"! it took me five hours and 30 minutes to finish the lineart. so yeah, as sutafani said, the longer you take on it, better it becomes... either that~ or im just slow. lesse... hair, right, there are alot of different ways to draw hair, the initial strands are fine but when you want to end it, you cant just cur off like flat, unless you want some kind of creepy gothic girl with line straight hair... then knock yourself out. I usually use darkest option airbrush (or soft circle on lacaux) and touch it up with a soft eraser. i think those with tablets use like... the pen more because its easier for them to draw straight.
overall, you just have to figure out what works for you.

Watching animations helps alot too. ^_-

I don't like lineart that much. Probably because my lineart is just plain crappy (and that's why I prefer drawing on paper than on the computer even though it goes faster especially when coloring >:| ) I don't have much control over my stupid mouse. I suggest you do dark to light starting from the very bottom to the top. And just add a bit of lines... that's what I'd do. It depends on you. Um, just check out Everdream's lineart of hair.

i like to draw on paper better too but after a while i foreget that i dont have an "undo" button, then i get in a crappy mood because of it. i have grown to like that undo button.

Lol Sutafani... I suck a drawing hair aswell so i tend to just draw a solid shape and colour it in all pretty....=]

I agree with Sutafani. Only the kind on top of your head is nice. The rest should be shaved! >;)
