More commonly known in other places as the nine-banded armadillo. They can't see very well or hear very well, but they have really long sharp claws and have been known to eat lawyers. The armadillo may very well be the best loved animal in Austin... in all of Texas, for that matter.

Family: Dasypodidae/Order: Edentata
Close Relatives: Sloth, anteater, politician
Predators: Bobcats, Coyotes, Wolves, trucks, pissed off women with shotguns in the garden at night

oh yeah, my reference is the little f@#$*^ that's been digging holes in my yard

Ooh, I saw an armadillo walk across our street the other night too :).I love all the small details you put on 'im there.Btw, was he running away from your rifle as you took this pic?Hehe ;)....Nice one as usual :).
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Sep 9, 2004)
No, I really had the shotgun, If I could have found a small calibur rifle he'd be... well, you know. (I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings) But, yeah, he'd be compost or something.

Wonderful, dba! The details are so amazing. I can't figure out for the life of me why you submitted this on intermediate though. You are way too talented for that. :)

Beautiful job. See! having that 'dillocake' for your birthday made you appreciate the armored beauty of these lil buggers.
I'm surprised some enterprising opportunist hasn't started selling advertising on the sides of these...

Aww, so cute. I love it, even if the pesky critter is digging up holes in your yard. *pats*
