Ohhhh creeepy crawley... *shivers* I will never forget the first time I saw this documentary on 60 minutes or something on dust mites and carpet.... my kids were really little then and it totally freaked me out, I moved all the furniture outside and ripped up the carpet and the yard was full of stuff when my husband came home... he thought I had lost it. (I had been wanting to remodel, anyway... we had pretty wood floors under the carpet) This is so REAL looking! I feel itchy now! (I have stuck with all wood floors since then... I don't even like rugs now. :)
"this is based on a scanning electron microscope image of a dust mite" guess you didn't read right damnskippytakn-a-break. Great job anyways, it looks really real!!
mazi: I just try not to think about the bazillions of horrible little monsters living in the mattress... ewwww!!!
(It just occurred to me that since I spend what used to be my "dusting time" drawing here instead... I must have really huge, healthy, scary ones now!!!) I must get a maid!
I forgot to say that the most amazing thing is how you got it to have that glowing, sort of 'negative' effect that pictures like this have... wowsome work.
haha when you breathe on your pillow the warmth and moisture makes a great environment for them. so theyre probably all setting up camp right under your mouth.
OMG!!! I remember that from the documentary... that's when I decided steam cleaning the carpet was out... so the carpet went out... hmmm sleeping on the floor... nope too close to the dust bunnies (that are made up of mites) Okay, now I'm schizo about it... are you happy??!? lol
Haha this reminds me of a Squee comic I was reading once and he was trying to get rid of all the dust-mites under his bed and he threw this hungus one out the window and it was all like "you cannot kill me" and all that.. then it died... N e ways this is great!! i hate dustmites but this is great!
ugh that is disgusting! but what a cool draw! :) really good job thug.... lol dba... I did that too with the carpets.... needless to say, my father was a bit displeased with me lol.... all that nasty gnarly hard work is all covered back up with skanky carpets again - blech
This is amazing. You've made it look like a photo. Creepy, but cool. lol I did the same thing once, Cindy and found a really nice wood floor underneath. I can't stand carpeting, harboring all those creepy crawlies, dirt, odors, etc.
This is a great drawing mr thug. I've seen these photos too.. good thing you didnt draw one of those mites that live in our eyelash roots!! DBA and Lori would be gougin out their eyes..
heh, I dropped in on the Showcase to see if this had landed in here yet, and whaddayaknow... here it is. :) I am not going to that itchy website. I just can't.
Awsome work! Never knew what a dust mite looked like until now. Hmmm... I wonder if it is possible to mutate these creatures to at least the size of a small turtle? Sorry silly thought.
