the detail of her little hairs sticking out, i really like that, it makes the light stick out and it makes it look even more real. this is so good. sucks about the neck but it really doesn't take a way from the picture.

This was so amazing I went through every version and the animation to see how it was done. The animation was weird, becasue colors would be put on the canvas and then seemingly disappear! Just out of curiousity and for my knowledge, how many layers did you use for this one? I'm not trying to go into technicalities to take anything away from the picture like some people might try ( i.e. weak hearted fools that say "well, you have a tablet blah blah blah"), it's amazing no matter what, I just wanted to know so that i can further my own attempts at realism.

Wow, thanks for all of the wonderful comments :) They make me want to draw more often (but nooot quite, haha..this thing was far too tedious for my sanity).

Dino: umm, I used four layers for the whole thing. For most of the time I used three: the middle was used for the girl (her face, hair, shirt, everything like that), the bottom was used for the bg, and what I did for the top was I would draw whatever I wanted to for the portrait, say, the highlights of purple for her face, and then I would adjust the opacity (if needed; sometimes I would just draw part of the eye or something that didn't need changing) and merge that layer with the second. It took awhile, but it worked :P And for the fourth I did the same thing, but just to the bg. Badda bing, badda boom!

This Blows my mynd and my dad's too. Superb! I could never draw anything close to that!
