Hope this doesn't sound too stupid but can you only buy tablets online? Or are there places or stores you can actually buy them from. I've been looking around but haven't really found any...

You can buy them in stores. You can visit the computer stores of your neighbourhood. Many computer stores nowdays, especially those that are more popular firms, have websites with product lists and prices. You can also make a call to the store to check about the prices or if they have a product availiable.

I saw a few at Best Buy the other day, around the same area they have mice and keyboards. The prices might be a little high there, though.

try a computer store like futureshop. it all depends where you live but most big name computer/tech places will have them, or possibly order them for you. mine ran me (well.. my friends.) around $100 for an older model a few years ago. you can probably expect around $50-$100 depending on lots of different things. (size, pressure levels. the brand name, etc.) id say dont go for any more high tech than a wacom graphire 4x5. i have a graphire2 and i wouldnt bother spending money on a bigger one. seems like a waste to me personally.
