Hey! You are soooo close!!! :) This is closer to looking like the real thing than I thought even you could do. The only things I see structure-wise that might be a tad off are my left eye is a little (miniscule) bit high (edit: they were exactly right all the way through view 3, I think when smoothing things out you moved it up a bit - actually I think it has something to do with where you took the shadows out instead of the placement) and my nose might be a hair wide, but you could leave it exactly like that and it still looks like me. :) You're great! I'm so glad you posted me with hair... lol I wish I could have drawing days that bad. :)

omg, this is great....and i went and looked, gosh...lol, the pic here is pretty close. other than my age, my eyes are brown and the end of my nose is a little wider. i have to hunt for a pic and i'll put it up so you can see it. the shape of your face and eyes are the same, and small mouth. other people may swear that's not true, oops lol, but i've had blond hair most of my life, lol, yours is just thicker. let me see if i can get a pic to email to you....

I would love to have a twin... just a sister would be nice... lol (and you don't really have anything off Gigandas, it was all perfect in v.3, i think it's just the shadows)... I don't know anybody that can do this sort of thing better than you!

I'll work on this more tomorrow....so it's not quite as embarrassing as it is with its messiness.It's starting to get really irritating^^;.I'll try to fix the eye and nose thing tomorrow as well.And thanks DBA, I'm happy as long as you're happy with this one....:)

nice. i think the left eye is right on. i don't think it looks off, and it appears exactly as the photo shows it... it's just a matter of lighting and angle.. DBA has her head crooked so her left eye, which is higher, exposes more of it's lashes to the camera.

I know, This is one of the very first pictures i've seen before i ever joined 2draw, last year its excellent just never commented it.

i don`t know how people get it right to be so realistic.....i guess im destined to be unrealistic with my art :(...
other people seem to get it right so easily :-S

mx-It's basically one big puzzle really. The closer you can get all the right shapes and colors in their accurate positioning on the canvas, the closer you will be to achieving it.

wow! mx, I agree... I can't seem to achieve photo realism very well myself. My brain and hand doesnt work that way either.

Giggy and Aubrey are the two best here at doing this. I don't know how either of you see those minute differences let alone reproduce them.

mx..look at Aubrey's car..that was moused.. I don't think it makes a difference what you use if you have the patience for meticulous detail.

Just because you can't 'copy' a ref doesn't degrade you as an artist. People just have strength and weaknesses.

Quite the contrary. I wish I could draw without some kind of reference.

I did this one with a mouse, but it really shouldn't matter which one you use. I think the only real difference is the amount of time and patience you're willing to put into it working with a mouse. I mean, it's not exactly the easiest thing to maneuver to draw tiny details or clean lines with, but given the time, it should be possible.
