The water is beautiful... lava rock has tiny bubble holes all in it, which makes it appear kind of bumpy... and some red and purpley colors in it. It looks like you have a good start on that, but you're gonna have to add some lighter highlights to bring them out. I'd do that first and then the wave will just prolly happen for you. :)

you sure got the water color right, I've seen it exactly like that. Good luck on the rest, I can't wait to see it finished!

I love the water colors. Maybe if you use a combination of a lighter shade of that water on very thin opacity, and then some highlights with the dodge/burn tools you could make that wave do what you want. The lava rocks need some small jagged gray scale highlights to make the black look like lava.. This is pretty.

What Davinci said, start off with a lighter value of dark, and add to it. I like the picture tho.

Pantera, I took out the mountain in the back like you asked me to, and tried to fix up the rocks... but when I tried to put a wave in where you wanted it, it just wouldn't go there (lol) I have never been there, so I don't know what it looks like, but the rest of the water just seems way too calm for a wave to be there.. couldn't make it fit. You can go back in and put one in if you like.. but I'm not sure how to do it here. Also, if you don't like what I did you can delete the one layer I worked on and your version is still there exactly as it was.. I didn't use your layers.

I think you did such a beautiful job on the color of the water and the general idea is great, that it is such a soothing and pretty picture just looking at the water. :) Would just love to be swimming around in there with the sharks... mmmmm.... yep I would

I like what you did with the rocks, maby we make another one sometime with waves :) I love it , thank you very much for helping :)
davincipoppalag (Apr 15, 2004)
Yea you two.. this is now a way cool calm lagoon ! Beautiful..no waves needed!
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Apr 15, 2004)
You're welcome, Pantera, but I didn't really do much except for go in and ruin your wave! lol I just gunked up the rocks a little. You had the basic picture already done so well... such pretty water and good placement of the rocks and stuff. You didn't really need my help, but I enjoyed doing it. :)
