yonge street (starting in toronto ont.),is the longest road in the world. this rock formation is on hiway 11 about 1/2 mile from the very end of it, i tried to get the texture of the rocks but they just keep looking fluffy...sigh, any suggestions? i used to live 5 blocks up and one block over from the very foot of it...fabulously exciting tidbit of info eh?

Maybe you should soften it a little,but...are you sure this should be on beginners? This is great!

oooh nice one! on rocks I use some hard lines at some of the edges and some dark smallest possible brush solid black and dark gray accents in the shadow areas with sharp outline edges they tend to look more realistic.. love the clouds!

This is beautiful. The rocks look "fluffy" only because they are a bit blurry. A little more contrast in the color values with darker underneath and brighter highlights on the outer edges will make them appear more like rocks. (With more shadows and highlights in the middle of them) I wouldn't do them too sharply, or outline the edges, -just make the edges more defined-(Dunno, I come from a different schooling than davin, I was taught not to outline things, unless you want it to look like a coloring book) outlining them harshly will bring them forward too much and they should be a tad fuzzier because they are farther away. I love the wildflowers, although they do look a bit like they are floating, a few stems and light and dark grasses larger towards the front would fix that (I'm sure you were gonna do that anyway.. I see you aren't finished.) I really love this one... It's good composition, too, btw. I like your style!
