I'm sorry to have to tell you all but Dave passed away last night. I will miss him forever but he's not suffering anymore.

I’m so sorry to hear about this, Dave will forever be missed, he was one of the first people to comment on my art back when I was a teenager doodling on youdraw and he was always encouraging ..he’s been the ever present familiar name in my 19 years on this website and I’ll miss his humor and his lovely boat and bird art especially..such a sad day

Yes he was...he was very special

20 years of consistent encouragement, thousands of comments-all well intended. I met Dave at YouDraw 20 yrs ago and we shared all the same platforms ever since. He saw me go through the very beginning stages of drawing on the computer to where I am today and I wouldn't be where I am if it weren't for Dave.
Dave was even so kind as to help me when I was in dire need not that long ago and I am forever grateful. Passing on love, encouragement & understanding was his life's mission. Rest in peace sweet soul, you will forever be missed, elly

Lori, if you know his family please tell them there are people who remember and mourn him on the other side of the globe.

I believe he only had a sister in law left for family, and I don't know her I think about him everyday and wonder sometimes if he's with me.

Aww, this is so sad. He was one of the first people I talked to on here back in 2007. He was a truly special person and this site won't be the same without him. =(

💔 he will be missed. back when 2draw was starting out he helped pay for the server costs. that went a long way when I was just a college student.

Aww, nooo. He was the sweetest. I became a member here in 2007 and he was always encouraging and kind. I wasn’t active much on here but I would log on every now & then to check in and say hi to him. Very sad to see this tonight. May he rest in peace. <3

He was one of the best people I've seen posting on oekaki boards. Always kind, polite, happy and optimistic. Never seen him participate in fights or drama, And his art was really nice and fun too. Farewell Dave.

Wow... This is a broad stroke, but I believe it's accurate, he was one of the most uplifting people on the internet. If you worked hard on something, or you just pushed out a practice piece, he was there shining a light on it. Dave was loved by many here.
