thinking about how I can simplify the site to fix various bugs, and I'm not sure if the memo system is any better than just using email?

Other than faster mod assistance, I suppose memos/DMs aren't that important for 2draw's purposes. Most members ask for help in the comments of their entries/artwork anyway (now) or through forum posts. If anyone really wants to message another member privately, there's plenty of free messaging apps they could use outside of 2draw. All that been said, on any social site (even one centered around making digital art) I'd rather have a DM system than not (but I doubt it's a deal breaker for anyone).

Is there a way to make a forum board specifically for reporting abuse? A board where any member could post their reports but only mods could actually see the board posts? Is that possible? It would be one-way communication but maybe it could work? Is that a silly idea? Did you intend to receive unsolicited suggestions for these problems with this post? :P

As a fairly new member, (a little over a year) my only concerns were looking up old forums or wiki on how to use the applets that I found challenging.
The other annoying thing, with our beloved moderator Dave gone who handled abuse and guided newbies like me is a lack of consistent rules and abuse of boards.
I've dabbled in this medium for the past ten years on various sites. Some had clear set guides on front page before drawing, acceptable, not acceptable.
The abuse is what I find most annoying and because I might have missed a great piece of art by a member because I don't want to scroll through pages of basic chit chat and sketches. I know that is probably a BIG reason for turning away from a site. This site has many fabulous applets and tools, I know that will attract the young school child to an older adult learning a new skill, to the skilled artist. Thank you for keeping this domain alive for all who like to use.

If I do that I'm sorry luv2. I will say one thing, and that's the fact that most of the stuff on here falls into one of two categories: realistic or "cartoony".
Personally, I think that both of these mediums of art are great. I suck at realistic art, so I stick with more cartoony stuff. The main problem I have is drawings in the wrong boards. But still, just because cartoons aren't as high quality as other drawings, doesn't mean they shouldn't exist. I only started drawing a year ago, and I definitely have grown in skill.

Another thing is a glitch with new users. When you click on their profile, none of their drawings show up? Example/url]

I love 2draw, and I don't care if the memos stay or go.

I hope I didn't offend you susu, and you're right there is room for all. I've certainly enjoyed some of the young artists work here.
I guess it's frustrating that Dave was so good at commenting, directing, and warning. He is missed!!!
I'm only a seasonal user here at best, I like to learn, and I think all should have the capacity to do so.

No, you didn't 👍. Sorry If I was a wi-bit defensive. I've scrolled through older draws, and Dave commented on almost all of them. While I joined after he disappeared, I still sorta miss him.

i know one thing that always bothered me about this site is that you can't use TAGS [#] or tag people in your post or collaborations [@] I think it would be alot better not only searching for certain types of artwork using tags but it also be better for organizing Collab's or showing off your work to certain people or shouting them out using tags too.

this day in age everything from Instagram to facebook tiktok or twitter and even youtube uses these tag commands it won't take the users no time to get used to them here. (If anything it just seems a lack of a common feature here)

this site predates tags and @ on the internet. ;) but I’ll see if there’s an easy to add @ user. Tags are a bit trickier because it requires a search index which I don’t have setup

I prefer the memo system not go, but if you have to go ahead.
