Bacchae (Sep 26, 2010)
ref: http://www.getty.edu/art/gettyguide/artObjectDetails?artobj=61240(and off course, the stereotype I refer to : http://tattoo.about.com/od/tattoosgeneralinfo/a/tramp_stamp.htm) I've been told that I've got it all wrong, I went with the stereotype being the tattoo, not the person, and apparently I should have drawn a real whore with a tramp stamp for it to fit the stereotype. Like, if I had drawn the stereotype "White People Don’t Have Rhythm" I wouldn't have drawn a white guy sitting on a chair and written "doesn't have rythm" under him. Meh... Maybe I'll change everything then, dunno...

why shouldn't older people care?
If they live in the present and not in the past, shouldn't their current looks matter as much as it did before?
And I'm not talking about crying over each wrinkle, but using the elegance of their appearance to their benefit. There are many beautiful 60-70 yr women today, who are always elegant, caring for their wear, make up, hair, nails etc.
Anyway, everything you're saying is interesting. Seems there are a lot more "tattoo stereotypes" around than just the lower back one.
(Little story I read : a little boy pointing at a tattoed girl in a swimming pool and loudly asking his mom if the girl "got out of jail". I truly believed that stereotype was long gone... Apparently, not that much).
