I'm in the same boat as Kasha: the warm colors make it feel so calm. This is cool; I especially like the bike riders :)

My name is John Crichton
An astronaut
Three years ago I got shot through a wormhole
I'm in a distant part of the Universe
Aboard this living ship of escaped prisoners
My friends
I've made enemies
Powerful, dangerous
Now all I want is to find a way home
To warn Earth
Look upward and share the wonders I've seen

Great job! *applauds* The words are, like, perfect... did you do those freehand? Lovely partial face. The incompleteness definitely adds to the mystery of it all.
marcello (Apr 29, 2004)
My only suggestion would be to add a lot more contrast to the face. It is completely overshadowed by the text logo, and loses most of its importance that way. I think if you took some of the brightness of v10 and added it to what you have now (and I'm not saying to make the whole thing bright, just towards the center, probably), I think you may surprise yourself. Then again, you may not.
evil_cloud (Apr 29, 2004)
Well i took a decision ... THIS WONT FINISH LIKE THIS... er.... i need space
tappie_chan (May 5, 2004)
i like this. it looks like it could be the shows logo. i love the text! how did you do it?? very nice buddy! keep it up! ^____^

I know this is a cliche kinda picture, but I discovered I live pretty close to this very spot. I just purchased a new camera and have been scouring my town for neat pictures..fortunately it hasn't been too difficult. This was just a quicky to cure my lag at work, and if you'd like to see the photos (shameless self promotion warning) here they are.. http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/stacilynn2k1/my_photos

Hey I never get tired of sea pics..nice piccys!
xwindflyer (Apr 29, 2004)
Good one Cat. Needs more color in the sand and rocks. Try making the seafoam, and spray by using a very small air brush setting, and making small swirls-then soften them.
foxman8245 (Apr 29, 2004)
nice pic!! I like the water splash effect... I agree with xwind... but very nice to say the least!!!!

The idea for this was inspired by a cool pic in the cd booklet for Audioslave... I kinda made the map up, that stuff is here, but I put stuff where I felt like putting it. :)

Pandora (Apr 29, 2004)
Crazy me..when I first read the description I thought it was an alien running. Now look what I'm saying before I look like a total nut. haha It looks like someone is running with a candle in hand his elbow is where the thumbnail is and hes running with some kind of pouch. Oh wake up Pandora , look again. haha I see it now. Either way it's fantastic DBA.
dixielandcutie (Apr 30, 2004)

Yay..waters lookin great! good job!@
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Apr 26, 2004)
This is beautiful, and yes, I do believe if I can get the trajectory down just right I'll hit those lovely sharp rocks just in the ocean. Because, emma, someone has to fling themselves onto the rocks from the top so it will be romantic, so it might as well be me. Oh, wait, I have to get my flowing gown on and wait until dusk before I jump. LOL
emmamommalag (Apr 26, 2004)
LOL, Dead.. you and I have very different notions of what's romantic. That just sounds gory to me. lol This looks beautiful, xwind.. great job on the stonework and the water. The colors are just right, too.
xwindflyer (Apr 27, 2004)
People, your supposed to use the staircase, you don't have to jump! Just think of all the stuff that could happen inside..out of site..inthe dark..heh,heh.( hmm. better leave that alone). lol

Well, xwindflyer I beg to differ.
The beak of a Sandpiper is significantly shorter than that of a curlew, therefore I conclude that this is a Curlew.
Look on google. *Sticks tongue out*
davincipoppalag (Apr 28, 2004)
Fin kinda looks like a curlew when he sticks his tongue out like that!
xwindflyer (edited Apr 28, 2004)
OK, I didn't know what it was, I just "thought" it was a sandpiper, If it's a Curlew, then so be it, it's a curlew, but a curlew, has a more curved beak. lol
Fin_beast (Apr 28, 2004)
Where is the reference picture?
That would solve the problem.

This i beautiful. I like the rendering of the water and foilage it really stands out. The reflective glow on the water is very good. Great job.( Ido think some of the flames in the fire are a little too stiff though, too geometric).
Knockoff (Apr 28, 2004)
This is awesome dba! I love the fire, it looks so real. It reminds me when I went out west.
The animals and detail are wonderful.!(esp the grass)
T-SLA (May 18, 2004)
jajajajaja, yes... the same reference, but yours look.... *_____* great...
snow_child (edited May 22, 2004)
the origonal picture isn't from montana! its from the okanogan, i know because i live here in peachland. i watched the whole thing with my very own eyes. it's in a book, all over the internet too. i'm sure it's from where i live up in canada if you can believe it
