THis can be moved to beginner but I am liking it. :) I know there is still some sketchiness to it.

............ wha comment oh yeah um yes i like her wings very nice.............
davincipoppalag (Jan 20, 2006)
Yea mike..it's the face..yes .. The right hand looks a little funky? I think that part to the right of the thumb is what makes it look like that. Pretty
SYTHE (Jan 21, 2006)
Either the right hand is too big or the left one is too small, but somehow that wasn't the first thing I noticed.......uhhhh boobies. ~giggle, giggle~ sexy pic
terracotta (Jan 21, 2006)
She's Michele Pfiffer-pretty and the pose is provocative. Wondering about the significance of black wings...Critiques: Hands have already been mentioned so, the top of her right arm is too curved and the area above the clavicle, where the side of her neck connects to the top of her shoulder needs to be smoother. The drop of that line is too severe. You've done some lovely, subtle shading on the body but none at all on the face. I hope you'll keep working on this one, it's a great start. |

"Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend, inside of a dog it's too dark to read" (my favorite quote)
terracotta (Jan 21, 2006)
There's a psychological atttitude of self-loathing that I call the Groucho Syndrome from this quote "I wouldn't want to join a club that would have me as a member." And one I live by..."I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book." Love your portrait of him, Bob. |

This is a bit of a surprise. My dad finally ditched the dial up and got DSL, so I can load the appeletes without having to wait thirty minutes until I can start drawing. He also spilled coffee on his keyboard and mouse and they stopped workingso he bought a new wireless set. =O No more corded mouse! For my early return I decided on a nice summer scene. This is inspired by a picture that's hanging behinfd me in the computer room. Meh. I got sloppy. I kinda like it though.

so today my brother found this odd creature stuck to a rock on the beach..at first i thought it was a fossil..but when i got close im sure it was alive..even tho we couldnt pry it off the rock..it was cool
Wavey (May 22, 2004)
Word up, I thought it was a trilobite too... but I thought they were all extinct before the Dino ages, like Paleozoic style. Cool find at any rate, nice going Staci.
PolythenePam (May 22, 2004)
Those things are called chitons...or maybe it's chritons...Either one. They're all over the rocks at the beach here...
Deathaisha (edited May 25, 2004)
it looks like a leach with fur!I hate leaches,bleh....awsome pic!
terracotta (edited Jan 18, 2006)
Chiton is correct. My favourite ones are called "Gumboot Chitons". It's pronounced ky tun, accent on the first syllable. |

Death, that hath suck'd the honey of thy breath,Hath had no power yet upon thy beauty: Thou art not conquer'd; beauty's ensign yet Is crimson in thy lips and in thy cheeks, And death's pale flag is not advanced there
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Oct 1, 2004)
"Give me my Romeo; and when I shall die Take him and cut him out in little stars, And he will make the face of heaven so fine That all the world will be in love with night, And pay no worship to the garish sun. O, I have bought the mansion of a love But not possess'd it, and though I am sold, Not yet enjoy'd." In the first version he is there, and in the second, he is missing.

"Go,tell the prince,--run to the Capulets,Raise up the Montagues.. We see the ground whereon these woes do lie: But the true ground of all these piteous woes, We cannot without circumstance descry." Lovely picture miss staci
Aubrey (Oct 2, 2004)
Very nice. Romeo and Juliet was great and the versions would be perfect front and back covers for Shakespeare's play girly :)
terracotta (Jan 18, 2006)
...shall I believe that insubstantial death is amorous and that the lean, abhorred monster keeps thee here in dark to be his paramour? For fear of that, I still will stay with thee; never from this palace of dim night depart again. Here, here will I remain...with worms that are thy chambermaids. Eyes, look your last. Arms, take your last embrace. And lips, oh you the doors of breath, seal with a righteous kiss a dateless bargain with engrossing death. Here's to my love. Thus, with a kiss, I die.(I memorized the entire play 37 years ago. Have forgotten big chunks of it. Touring your userboard and came upon this. Fits my mood today.) A glooming peace this morning with it brings. The sun, for sorrow, will not show his head, for never was a story of more woe than this of Juliet and her Romeo. |

I can hear the pound of the hoofbeats and I sorta feel like I'm choking on dust when I look at this. It's one of my favourite works I've seen on this site. I've come back to it many times and can sit and look at it for long periods because it evokes a place and time for me.

thanks a lot people...basically i´m teaching my heart to believe in what i´m doing at this time of my life :)

If your heart is having trouble there's no hope for any of us. I'd travel many miles by bus to see an exhibition of your work. And I didn't go to see the Picasso in Vancouver, only 35 miles away. I did drive 1,000 to see the Chagall in San Francisco though... |
