(Jan 1, 2004)
This is my character, Tanya. I want to be her, and have her wardrobe, too.
Juna (Jan 11, 2004)
I like the dress, and envy anyone who could pull wearing it off.
strangeoid (Jan 12, 2004)
Darn... her lips disappeared! I drew them, I swear.... oh, I guess you can see them when you magnify it a few times.... but still....
fleeting_memory (Mar 1, 2004)

bumpinthenight (Aug 12, 2004)

YAY!!! I just started scribbling, and he is what I ended up with. I'm sooooooo happeh! It is a cheap, skittish and undependable little tablet, but it works fine enough to draw for a bit. ^_________________^

It occurred to Jeremy that they had not called him here for "a little talk." Unfortunately, it was too late to turn back, and he willingly accepted his fate.Thought I had the rating to 13+, and I didn't. I figured it's not good for the youngin's to be thinking about somebody's last moments like that.
marcello (Mar 27, 2004)
unless of course, he kept his pride in his vest pocket.
DMV (Mar 27, 2004)
hey this really great !I like the blood flying thru the air. but i am wondering something? and i know DBA could elaborate on this ...the bullet size since it went thru the body obviously can't be a 22. and i think a 9mm would do the trick, anything else would have made a bigger hole? just wondering :)
davincipoppalag (Mar 27, 2004)
its flying straight..and its intact so its not a tumbler or a hollow point.. 9 sounds good... poor fella.. its gonna ruin his shirt..
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Mar 28, 2004)
A 9mm (which is police issue) would definitely do the trick, although it doesn't make quite as big an exit hole as as a .44 magnum (I killed a deer with my .44 pistol this year, and it has some drop down power) although it could have been a .38 or a .357 (you can use a .38 load in a .357), but to tell you the truth, this looks like a shotgun slug hit to me. :) (although you can kill a man with just a .22 if you shoot him in exactly the right place) |

I'm not finished, but she looks pretty spiffy right now... I've got to go have lunch, so I'l come back later.Edit: There! Now, ain't she pretty? i know she's small, but i plan on drawing a big dragon next, so this was just for fun.
strangeoid (edited Aug 18, 2003)
Turtlebuster, i did shade her, but she's so small that you cant really notice it. I suppose that she could use more, though. Oh, and I don't care if the background matches. I was just drawing, not sending in a sketch to the historical society or anything. I could draw somebody who actually LOOKS medieval, but maybe later.
alwaysLearning (Mar 5, 2004)
This is quite pretty, and though I do agree that there's a bit of difference in feel between the background and the foreground, to me it doesn't come across as being quite as extreme a difference as it apparently does to Turtlebuster. I particularly love what you've done with her hair!My one question is whether her right (farther) shoulder is a little high, or whether it's intended to suggest that she's picking up her skirts on that side, and that's why her shoulder is lifted a bit out of true? Either way I try to interpret it, her neckline seems a bit out of true on that side, and so I've been wondering what you intended. I've been trying to master poses similar to this one, and my eye for them seems better than my hands can execute so far, but I find it helpful to learn from others' work. As a result, I'm particularly interested in details of the pose, and how to make it convincing to the eye, that's why I ask. Regardless of the answer, I still think she's quite pretty and eyecatching -- she really stands out, even at this small size and amid the assortment of other pictures in this portion of your gallery. <smile> I'm browsing through your pictures in chronological order, to see how you got to your present skill level, and seeing your earlier works is encouraging -- it gives me hope that with practise, my own work will likewise progress in skill, from the "merely pretty" (no insult intended) to the "truly stunning", as yours has. <smile>

See, this girl would fit my castle in the red princess' picture. I have to go to bed now, so I'l finish her later.... how do you spell rennaissance, anyway? .... Edit: She now has a face and hair
amuy (Sep 4, 2003)
Awww i love it! gorgous, all it needs is a bg!! aww i cant wait!
alwaysLearning (Mar 5, 2004)
This is pretty! It rather reminds me of the Elizabethan Barmaid I'm working on at the moment, actually, I was kind of surprised to see another piece here so similar in appearance. <smile>By the by -- in answer to your question, it's spelled "renaissance", meaning "rebirth" (which is how I remember not to double the "n", because it's re-naissance, if you break the word down into its component parts). And, not to be picky, but the costume isn't renaissance in style -- that would be more like your classic "Romeo & Juliet" style of clothing. This dress style is more like those from about 100 years later, at least; but it's well executed, which is what matters -- <smile> -- not a slip of the tongue in labelling the era. And yes, I know the style of dress is common at "Renaissance Faires", but they usually include a mixture of historical eras in their costuming, etc., which I think confuses people. <wry chuckle> |
