from a photo I took of the sofa in the front room a couple of days ago. I liked the light, I have a thing for light.

mmm, idk...i think its more the detail of the rug, the shadow of the plant, some light source reflecting over the couch, the way he gave the couch such a comfy plush feeling with a few brush strokes...how if you look every line, every stroke, seems almost careless because his eye for light and form is so phenomenal, he doesnt need to second guess or overwork it.

i don't think many people can appreciate how amazing this picture is.

I do see what you mean..I was just cutting up....the couch does look velvety soft...and i especailly like the vent cover there.....it does belong in showcase..

Thank you guys. Dorsy i think that the original ref had it a bit softer but i liked experimenting with contrasts, especially it seemed just right with the overall expression of the pose and colours. Perhaps i did it too "extreme" though, dunno, maybe you are right :) i was mainly trying to get the "in focus" effect of her arm, knee and the sofa's angle, so the rest of the body looks a bit blurry, you know, like on the photograph.. hmm actually now that i look at it you are probably right i could make it smoother, but oh well.. what's done is done :) thanks for this comment though!

Love this! My fav is that fish in the birds mouth. I had to smile from the expression the fish is making. Poor thing, but it is nature taking place.
Aubrey (Jun 13, 2009)
That poor fish looked too cool right before it was swallowed by that just as cool bird.

Weird Lascaux bug
Jimbob (Mar 30, 2010)
I dunno how this occurs, but its happened on both my laptop and my desktop (and both mouse and tablet) so I'm assuming it's something to do with the applet. What happens is I'm revising an image, on only one layer, and I'm using the freehand tool. Suddenly a random coloured thick line starts appearing on my picture. When I draw to get rid of the line, more of it appears. Eventually the line does end, but this occurs randomly at different parts of the painting (and over same parts of the imag...

Started out as jim morrison, but I don't think it looks so much like him, so let's just call him Vinny.

Thank you everyone. =) I fixed the eyes, and I still don't really like how it turned out, but everyone seems to get who it is, so it can't be too terrible. I was going to delete it, but I'll just leave it as is.
firecracker (Mar 20, 2010)

JTablet for Mac?
cerebus360 (Feb 17, 2010)
I own a Mac and I've been checking on the JTablet site frequently. Recently, below the Linux system there, right there...in little writing say "Mac version coming soon!" Now, I've been pretty excited and checked even more often. Been about a couple months, can anyone tell me if there is a BETA version or a program that is similar to Jtablet? This really reminds me of waiting for Paint Tool SAI....

yeah, that animation was entertaining.. it's wild how you go about painting your portraits, really shows how talented you are. I kept thinking it was over, but nope! it kept going :) great work here

You know what? My friend, Joe, that told me about this site, introduced me to it by showing me your stuff! What a small, little, tiny yet adorable world. Thank you.

for Him.

In order to understand the significance of the folded napkin, you have to understand a little bit about Hebrew tradition of that day. The folded napkin had to do with the Master and Servant, and every Jewish boy knew this tradition. When the servant set the dinner table for the master, he made sure that it was exactly the way the master wanted it. The table was furnished perfectly, and then the servant would wait, just out of sight, until the master had finished eating, and the servant would not dare touch that table, until the master was finished. Now if the master was done eating, he would rise from the table, wipe his fingers, his mouth, and clean his beard, and would wad up that napkin and toss it onto the table. The servant would then know to clear the table. For in those days, the wadded napkin meant, "I'm done". But if the master got up from the table, and folded his napkin, and laid it beside his plate, the
servant would not dare touch the table, because.......... The folded napkin meant, "I'm coming back!"

Jesus is coming back.

Believing everything that can't be proven, and believing in God are two entirely different ideas in my heart and mind. I have a relationship with God that is unmistakably real here and now. I have daily proof in my life that He is...and always was, "I AM."
marcello (Mar 6, 2010)
hard to argue with that. ;)
Flubbles (Mar 6, 2010)
If god really does exist, then who here can conclusively give me evidence i cannot dispute? i'm not saying i dont believe in god, i've just never been given any concrete evidence of his existence.
Axil62 (Mar 6, 2010)
See? You are persuing Him.
