Forgive me if this is missplaced, i'm kind of a newbie to the whole scene. The Discriptions of the sections are rather vague. i see some in the begginer, that looks intermediate, an some in the intermediate that kinda.. well looks like it needs to be placed elsewhere. is there anything besides the time limits, and the vague discriptions that define these/the sections? or is it all run on somewhat of an honor system?

I had a terrible day... until I went ice skating :) I love skating. Sadly, I had to return to reality and now I have to think how I'm going to resolve my problems. Drawing helps me clear my mind, so... here it is.I think this drawing has more quality than the last three I have done (Not the nude, I liked it... but the dragon I draw yesterday was unisipiring xD) Edit: Something happened when I was drawing this o.o I began to feel fear... from this drawing... >_> <_< I just couldn't stand looking at his eyes... some minutes later I lost that fear. Strange... I never imagined I would be sacred by something I made... Feel free to laugh at me xD Edit 2: Miracrously, I had time to finish this before scheduled. Yesterday I was scared by my own creation... but now I feel really sorry for him. He is suffering... u_u This is my first Advanced entry... hope you like it.

Oooo. I love the way you've mixed the desaturated tones of the hat and her skin with the supersaturated colours of her lips, her kimono and the background. The hat is *ahem* well, dammit, amazing. Love the tension in the chin strap/skin and the way you've just managed to hide her eyes from the viewer...so we're always trying to peer up under the edge of the hat. Critiques? Hmmm. That gorgeous bouncelight underneath her chin makes me wish there was a tiny bit of shine on the skin of her cheek. But's that nitpicking. I love this.

It's insane how much subtle texture is in the skin here. I can't begin to imagine how to do this with lascaux sketch, and it'd still be incredible regardless of the medium.

One of the first things an artist learns how to render to understand dimension shadows and highlights. Spot on frootcake.Wouldn't the disks edge have a slight hint of hightlight (reflective light?) Sorry quibbling. Ignore the silly lady. |
