i've been listening to a lot of underground hip-hop artists such as: Mr. Lif, Aesop Rock, Akrobatik, Cannibal Ox, RJD2, Micranots, Mic Head, Push Objects Buttons.... it gave me the idea to draw him.I'll draw it differently this time. This time I'll draw real undrgrnd rap emcees and djs/b-boys/writers/lyricists to make up the 5 Elements of Hip-Hop. |

His head is way too small and his arms are too short but you've done a great job on the rest of it. Very good shading.i think i want to get this set back to unfinished and take it in another direction....

i'm pretty sure it says "planet rock"...i love the character too, awesome style, its just too bad he got kind of lost in the background, would have been nice to see him stand out a bit more

okay if you couldn't read the letters it said. on his t-shirt PLANET ROCK & the little graffiti letters say Afrikaa Bambaataa's Planet Rock. It's a famous song he made in the 80s. |

i suppose this is a reflection. if so, i like how the reflection and the woman herself are both looking towards the spectator, it's eerie and so not right. so creepy! i love it.

I don't play the games and don't know the character, but someone suggested I draw the black mage from final fantasy...reference pic practice on clothing and character recreation.

Dude, Marcello... thanks!! When I said "draw a Black Mage" I didn't think I'd get this. :) The Orko refrence is funny, because it's true; but in any case this Black Mage is better than Vivi could ever be! haha, thanks Clox. I'll see about Xod. I was thinking maybe porn sites have good models but I got kinda scared about having my family come in and thinking I was some kind of weirdo. Im trying to find a simple model without any sexual gestures. So natually, porn is out of the question. Arrrgh, I have a feeling this is gonna take me ages.

This might help, or maybe notI used these books to better my antomy skills as well better myself as an artist: The Human Machine by George Briggman - a good book to learn the mechanics of anatomy Dynamic Anatomy by Burne Hogarth - great book and Hogarth is one of the best 50 Secrets of Magic Craftmanship by Salvador Dali - aside from sounding kinda insane at times, it's a great book Gray's Anatomy - this book is best for learning terms Anatomy for the Artist by Jeno Barcsay - this has great drawings in it and another good term book There are a few others I own but those I listed helped me most. Of course, don't take my word for it. <some of you are old enough to get that joke, I hope, that line is right up there with "...and knowing is half the battle"
