Hopefully it'll turn out decent. It's a picture of Between and her mother before she gained her strange appendage. (As always, harsh critique would rock. I'll take anything as long as it's not just wailing on my art. I'm not angry if it's got even the slightest bit of info on what to change but what really gets me is "It sucks" -_- because I'm a new artist and I know it sucks, that's why I want you amazing artists out there to tell me what I could do to..unsuck =3! Because lord knows I envy all of you here.)

actually, sweetcell, i think the neck is fine, the head just seems a bit far over...oh! -shoulder blades should probably be a bit higher up... -hind legs...i mean the shin bones should be shorter -the baby's head is too big. the fore legs make the mom look a bit like a mongoose...o.o *tilts head*

Sorry I've been so dead lately Sweetcell. I've been really busy lately, but hopefully I'll be compensating for my lack of art with a ton of new, better art.Thank you both for the awesome critique ^^! I'll make sure to keep it in mind for next time. And actually now that I look back at it, the neck does remind me of a mashmallow xD oh well, better luck next time. The legs on the front doo look mongooseish...not a word but whatever. Between's (the baby's) head was probably my least favorite thing in the picture so that's something I'll fix next time. All somehow tied together by my main character, these three venture throughout the land in search of a certain friend. The standing one is Saieida (Sai) who is very shy, and wears a large green bow (though it looks more like a green blob). The sitting one is Akiska (Aki), he's very stubborn and will only swallow his pride if he is in the presence of those who could cause him trouble, he's a 'teen' and has raised his little sister even though he is young himself. The laying one is Kivka (Kiv), Aki's sister. She's rather hyper but also minds her manners since Saieida helped raise her, at the moment she's still a pup.

I think you could do well if you tried some different or more advanced lineart, I've got to contradict myself though, it's the simplicity of your art that really catches my eye.

I'm being a hipocrite.... dang... I love it, but, I think you should get away from the 2nd-grader-like sun. The up in the corner thing... kinda little-kiddish. I have no room to say anything, since, I have a sun simalar on my llama picture... oh well... I'll get to work on that....

Ok, Wild Mustang Girl, not to sound like a bitch but you need to advance a bit before you critique. Keikai has come a long way from when she started and has well improved, take your same advice mmkay?Keikai your working well. Your line art is improving, and glad you took the advice about direct light. The shading came out fine. Akiska's right leg would be darker because his body would cast a shadow and so would Sai's. Some strips of grass under and over their paws would break up the feeling that their floating, which is what it looks like at the moment, and don't be afraid to work more on the clouds. Not so much blobs but fluffy cotton. As for the sun make it smaller and less bright and try to blend or wash out the yellow a bit so it isn't as harsh a contrast between the sky and sun. Really are improving girlfriend. Well done. I like it, and the story.

Thanks sweetcell. I'll try to keep improving with your help. In a way I'm gonna have to agree with Mustang Girl, the suns I make look sort of childish. Oh well, with the info you gave me I'm sure I'll figure out a way to make it better. I'll remember to use the grass idea for my future pictures since I've been doing grass a lot lately. Between, Betwixt's female friend.The fur texture turned out better than last time...still needs a lot of work. (Harsh critique would rock to hep me figure out what I can do better. Especially on the reflection, the water, the splash and well...x.x everything else actually!)

Oh wow! The line art is amazing! The cute little mouse compaired to the well...less cuddly dragin is absolutely lovely. The only critique I can say is...hmm the backside seems a little off, my opinion only (I have no right to say considering I'm not even half as good as you) and that's pretty much all I can think of. The colors are very nice too, the horns stand out! All in all it is very nicely done. |

It's very good. If I may be so rude as to butt my head in where it does not belong, I don't think you should feel offended. They aren't trying to me mean and pick on your drawings, just giving a tiny bit of critique so you can learn and grow to be better than before. In my opinion it's very nice, however, I agree it could use some fixing up (then again I need a lot of fixing up myself). As for the eye I doubt they ment an anime eye, more along the lines of a different shading or shape of some sort. Sorry if I seem really rude ^^; I don't mean to be.

Thanks so much sweetcell! You've been really helpful while I've been here. I'll be sure to keep all your tips in mind. I agree on basically everything you say, I sort of thought the hat looks a bit too much like a papper bag, the trees and plants were a bit off and also the shading makes them look...plastic. I'll try adding shadows and keeping the light focused on one area instead of all over the place. Thanks once again for your tips, they are very helpful and encouraging ;D!

Ahh, your welcome keik. Just think of this place as art school, as you progress the teachers help you by giving advice. Some people do take it a little seriously (there are some who can be harsh in their cristicism) but it's all to help you grow, learn. An artist is always learning. You've come a long way. I'm glad to be of help. *smoochies* cause they're better than *hugs*

I really don't think there is such a thing as harsh criticism, it's more like some people think certain things should be a certain way and just give more information on how they feel. Either way I'm fine with it. And I've only come a short way, I have a long way to go but thanks to you guys one 2draw (especially you sweetcell) that I've been able to get to this point.
