Eden's redesign. She by far is the funnest character for me to design, so that's probably why she's my oldest character. I realize the anatomy/profile of the face/hands etc. may be a bit off, but this is a big step for me skill-wise. I didn't put as much effort into the lineart as I usually do, I wanted it to be a bit more loose. Sooo....yeah. Enjoy.And her hair (it's not so much dreadlocks as it is really-tightly twisted strands of hair; think of very tight ringlets) is a lot of fun to draw. I challenge you to draw it yourself.

Hm... I was thinking, if a light source like the sun were to hit a black umbrella, a shadow would be cast upon the object beneath it. However, if the light source was a strong and direct one like a spotlight, and it struck an opaque source like a red umbrella, would the umbrella then act as a light source? Or would there be like red shadows.. (if there is such a thing o_o;;?) Or .. like, if there were blue shadows and a red light source, would those intersecting points be purple shadows then?

Oh wow, thanks for the replies :D! And uber thanks willtremblay for the sites! I'm going to have to experiment more with this colour stuff. The whole idea of cast shadows vs. form shadows is rather confusing though :s..Davinci: Ack yeah, I noticed the nose picking thing when I was submitting, and was hoping it was just me.. guess not lol! Now I can't stop staring at it o_o;;

the use of shadows and red/blue is really great~ i think if you used red (o even blue with more reflection of red) skintones more, it would've stood out even more~ |

Here's a bizarre coincidence... I was watching that HBO series, Carnivale on dvd. I decided to get up and get something to drink, and paused it. I didnt look where it ended up pausing. When I came back to it, this is what was on my screen...http://cellosoft.com/2draw/view/62358/ I just so happened to pause it right on that still.... it was a quick shot as the camera passed over them, but I happened to catch it right there. I had seen your painting before, and that just blew me away.
